I received Angelo Carbone's new Tenyo trick 2010 FLOATING CARD today from Japan.
I just opened the small parcel and read the instruction but I already know that this is the best floating card I have every bought! You will receive the typical Tenyo instruction, the gimmick and an original sealed Bicycle deck of cards in blue. Angelo, thanks for the great idea!

So can the spectators look under the card while it is floating like other card levitations?

Hello!
I am interested. Which other card levitations do you mean which can be looked under as you say so in your post? What are their names? In some circumstances you can see under the card but not always. Depends on your enviroment and what you are wearing. Angelo

I don't know of any floating card effects that you can look under the card....but this looks spectacular. On the youtube video, people say it is like Enlightenment, but I have Enlightenment, and I like it, but this card floats up over the entire deck and you can see the kid's shirt in between the card and the deck at it's higest point, something you can't do with Enlightenment. Wow this looks good.

Thanks! The kid's shirt is my shirt. It is me performing the trick in the video
As mentioned in my previousd post, in certain situations you can see under the card completely depending on the lighting and what you are wearing, so I am being honest. Sometimes you can see right under it and sometimes you can't. Angelo

Not trying to over-sell this effect but it is really startling when you see it live, even if you're performing it for yourself. It goes beyond normal Tenyo type material and I'm a huge Tenyo fan. The set up (the fact that the cards are fanned out, the spectator freely selects the card and can see it at all times) really makes it seem impossible. Someone would have to be pretty clever to figure out that there is a gimmick somewhere among the cards. I guess for you performers there are always going to be people trying to sneak a peek underneath but I can't see a lay person figuring this one out. Maybe I'm gullible?

Btw if I see someone start to bend their head and look under the floating card I just make the card descend back to the deck and then make it float again when they have straightened up.

Can you take a card an wave it underneath the floating card (to any extent)?

Yes you can. Actually you can go one better. You can remove the the card immediately below the floating card to prove there is is nothing attached to the floating card. See this in the video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUkhDqEIiXQ

Speaking of new levitations, has anyone seen "Up Levitation" exclusive from Hocus Pocus? I just got it in the mail 2 days ago and have not got around to it yet, but it is a full deck (half, actually) levitation and seems nice. I looked at the gimmick and I never saw anything like this before.(simple, though) I'll post a review when I get to it later tonight. Check out the video on their site. At least this and Angelo's levitating card look like something that we'll use often.
