I just saw the new trick - it's a HocusPocus Exclusive!

If you have ever wanted to perform a levitation close up and personal, without the many drawbacks of prior methods, NOW YOU CAN!

* No more threads
* No more magnets
* No more gimmick decks (YES you can just as easily use a borrowed deck!)
The UP LEVITATION gimmick has been designed to be worry free of extensive set ups or concealment. Now you can use a normal deck of cards that has been in play or even borrow one, without having to worry about how difficult it is to get in and out of the effect.

Watch the demo-video!

You must scroll down or search for the trick.

Has anybody seen a live performance of this trick?

The demo does not work for me and the picture looks like the guy is eating the cards...Is there a youtube video of this?

I think the method is a little apparent.

I just looked at the video and it looked pretty cool to me!
It's not the size of the wand that matters, it's the "magic" in it...

The animated card box to the performers left looks pretty good too

For us old timers, remember Ben Harris' and his 'The Ultimate Floating Deck' that came out in 1984?

It could be used with a borrowed deck and looks very similar to this effect.

PAUL Harris's original work on this was in Close-up Fantasies, I believe. You can find the full non-gimmicked versions by Paul, myself, and Srecko Howard (he added a wonderful "kicker finish") in AOA BOOK 2, starting on page 241.

Oh, I just remembered, Ed Marlo published versions based on these in New Directions Magazine (mid 1980's) and Ken Krenzel has had a version on the market for decades too.

Even though what is being offered appears to require a gaff, and the above-cited work is gaff-free, I'm sure all of it will be properly credited.. (well I hope it would be).

Cheers

I do not like it either.
I think the display does'nt look very clean to me.
The position of the hand holding the flaoting cards should be flat.
(if it is possible)

Vorezo have a look at the Hocus Pocus Demo it is shot in full colour.

I did a mini review here:
http://www.themagiccafe.com/forums/viewt......um=109&0

I don't know the history of this effect and I didn't see any credits on the DVD. Troy can be contacted at
TroyHoosermagic@yahoo.com for crediting questions.

Then levitation, if done like the video, isn't that great. It wold have to be much shorter ( less is more ). Then it could be believable with the proper routine.

But, the force is what I like. Anyway, I talk about it in the review. I think I would have marketed as a force and throw the levitation in as an extra.
