They're made in India. We probably won't know what they're like until Bill adds them to the museum. They also just released a set of mini cups in stainless steel.
Coming from India, I don't think Brett has anything to worry about with his engraved cups.

Always nice to see a new set of cups on the market. I will be interested if the high price on these is justified.

The stainless steel version of these cups is of variable quality. I have a set of those in the museum already. The first set I got had two badly spun cups in it, but the supplier replaced them without any problems.
I'll let you know about the brass ones. I just ordered them.

Y'all might want to check out Stevens's latest catalog, where BUMA has introduced the "SILVER BULLET" cups... with a gimmick to load water. At $180.00, they look like a bargain.

I have a set of the Silver Bullet cups coming sometime this afternoon. I need to do a BUNCH of photography, because I have to dismantle the photo equipment so's we can have our "normal" Thanksgiving celebration.
Normal here means my dogs, my brother in law's dogs, my nephew, my mother in law (who is a real peach -- I mean that!) and various nearby relatives, friends and "orphans."

I agree with Jake and others...Brett has nothing to worry about.
When applied to cups, does "embossed" mean "stamped"? If so, how is this accomplished on a closed surface like a cup?

Pewter is a softer metal; however, still quite durable. The Stones in my cold reading system are solid pewter. They are very VERY durable, but obviously the walls of a spun cup are thinner.

I don't believe these are spun. I think they are cast and then CNC machined. It's hard to tell. The lip looks like a spun lip, except that there is no seam where it comes back to the body. The work is excellent, though.

The other is to put a wooden mandrel or block inside the cup and use that as the backing for the embossing work. These may actually be engraved. All we know is what the ad copy says. This is not meant to insult the folks at Daytona Magic. They may not have had a chance to examine the cups thoroughly and may have simply used the ad copy provided by the manufacturer.

Tankards are usually spun and the additional parts soldered on. That's why I assumed they would be, maybe not then...

They look gorgeous!
Now if someone would produce a set of good, thick, Phoenix-like, worker's cups with some Celtic knot engraving -I'd be all set!

You know with all the available copper etchants used in hobby PCB manufacturing, I am surprised nobody has used the stuff to etch a set of cups.
