Hi folks,
I'd love to be able to turn a certain electrical toy on and off by remote control in my show. Has anyone had experience doing something like this? I'm looking, for example, at these components, and I could probably (eventually) get them up-and-running, but any advice or recommendations would be welcome. thanks, Doug

I have cannibalized parts from old toy R/C cars, but never starting from scratch. Many of the cheaper toys only have forward and backward controls, meaning all the remote does is reverse the polarity going to the motor. Putting a diode on one of the leads should give you an on/off function. Maybe that will do what you need?
...what if I could read your mind?

It certainly would!
That's a fine plan, thanks!

This is where I get all my remote stuff. The lowest voltage available, though, would be 9V but the reception is very good as compared to other lower powered remotes.

To cap the thread: I got two "remote control mini-subs" off of a big auction site, and they worked like a charm!
Thanks for the advice, folks.

Hello.
I use several remotes like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/8CH-Momentary-RF-Rem......8f1ae75d with great success (and no problems) |
