Crowds are now gathering on streets of gold to the sound of one wand tapping.
You know why don't act naive.

I got the same e-mail this morning. It is a sad day for us, indeed.
My heart reaches out to Marianne. A couple of years ago, my wife and I spent a week in Switzerland. One afternoon, we met Jim and Marianne and took them out to dinner. He was very gracious. Nobody knew the street like Jim. As most of you know, his health had been in decline for a long time. He had a hard life, but he amazed a lot of people.

He was one of the two major influences on the development of "Aragorn". The lecture he gave about 6 years ago at the Kennesaw Magic Shop. He stated, "There can be a game at the Braves Stadium. There could be 40 magician's in the audience, and you would NEVER know it. However, if the Pope walks in, you KNOW it". It's why I've lived my character....It has paid off. Thank you Jim!
aka: I used to be BOB (It's Cellini's fault)

I cherish the one time I saw Jim Cellini work in New Orleans. I truly value the work he shared with us all.

Over the years, I had heard a great deal about Cellini. I never imagined that someday I would have the opportunity to meet him. But, meet him I did!
Paul Cummins put me in contact with Doug Conn who put me in contact with Kozmo. It was through Kozmo that my opportunity to meet Cellini materialized. I met Cellini, for the first time, at the 5th Annual Motor City Close-Up Convention in 2001. I had a chance to meet the man and to experience his magic. It was not too long after that I put together a long lecture tour for Cellini. Jim was able to lecture from coast to coast for many magic clubs. It was during this time I was able to get to know Cellini a little. I found him to be one of the most knowledgeable magicians I have ever met. He had a real passion for magic. I was fortunate to hear his advice about my magic. During his first tour, I was able to attend four of his lectures. This was great fun! My only regret is that I never saw his “Slydini” lecture. However, during the 7th Annual Motor City Close-Up Convention in 2003, I was able to talk Cellini into doing some of the Slydini material in the Saturday night show. Daryl, who was one of the performers at that year’s convention, later told me that Cellini’s performance was so good that it brought a tear to his eye. Cellini, may you rest in peace. John Luka |
