Al,

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours and to every American! It is time to celebrate free enterprise and private ownership of land!

Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

And corn chips, don't forget corn chips, those new chili ones are good, I bet the pilgrims would have eat'n 'em if they had'em. Hippies are like that.

The pilgrims almost perished in their attempt a communal lifestyle. It was only after they established privet ownership of their land and the free enterprise system did they have their first Thanksgiving. It is a shame Americans have not been taught this in school.

Up until last year I thought that North America's first thanksgiving was in Newfoundland in 1578. Turns out that Florida likely beat them to it by 13 years.

Regardless, happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends.

In Australia, there's a public holiday called Australia Day. It's a day wherein the citizens celebrate their heritage and give thanks for being Australian.

The Aborigines call it Invasion Day . . . True story.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone from your South African pal.
