I am almost done with an update to NFW that includes an option to turn off the Load screen with name and removes the thumb pad. It looks awesome. ALSO I added a feature where you can secretly see what card you entered before "starting the App" as a fail safe to be sure you did input the correct card or that your input registered correctly, very cool.
Without the thumb pad the App loads with a white loading screen and the cards fading in and going thru the animation stopping on the selected card. My presentation is that the cards will fly by perhaps faster than the eye can see them all but the sub-conscience sees the card and the App will sense this and stop on the correct card. It's pretty amazing and when I get back home next week I should be ready to upload it to Apple and then a week later it should be available. All uploads are free but the App price will probably increase to $9.99. Thanks! |

Carl I have updated and want to check out the new version but I forget how to get into the help menu. When I click on NFW I go straight to the "first screen".
I'm sure I'm just being dense but please PM me if you read this. Thanks |

Mike touch the phone icon at bottom left to get the instruction screen.
NFW 2.5 Update: added a status bar check to avoid revealing wrong card. added a remove thumb pad and loading screen option. |

I went tot he Itunes store and updated. My App now says version 2.3
I went back to the Itunes store and checked again. It says 2.5 and it says I downloaded it. I synced my Touch with Itunes. What else can I do? |

Mike4Dice is correct, usually a delete and download again will fix it.

I found a bug in saving the new option and have already uploaded the fix to Apple. It still works but Version 2.6 should be available shortly with the fix. Thanks!

Thank you Carl. This new version wit the ability to turn off the splash screen makes this App a real worker for me. Basically you can do whatever routine or force you want and use this as a very visual revalation.
The Status Bar check is a great addition too. I'm working on a routine where I place the Ipod on top of the face up deck and then do the revalation. After the spectator sees their card on the Ipod I will say "Now that's pretty neat but what I can't figure out is how the Ipod re-arranged the entire deck." I'll then lift ehe Ipod and show that the top face up card has changed to the chosen card. |

Carl can we expect a "Retina" update? Make the app HD for Iphone 4 and maybe Ipad?
I would pay for the update

Well you should be using your own screen shots and they will be "Retina" display, the playing cards are also already optimized for Retina display. I use in on the iPhone 4S and it looks great! Not for the iPad specifically yet, it has a different icon layout and would be a rewrite just for that device, maybe in the future but I always saw it as an iPhone/iPod App, food for thought.
Thanks, Carl |

I am using my own screenshots which are Retina but once NFW launched the screenshot shows with low res (maybe 480x320?) like Iforce or other 480x320 magic apps... you can see the pixels. If I understood there should be no image quality difference between the real homescreen screenshot and the screenshot shown in NFW, correct? So maybe it may be a problem with my 4S? Do you have any solution?

@Studentoflife
If you are using Retina screenshots and they are not showing up Retina, something is wrong but I have no idea what. It is not the App and I have a 4S, it looks perfect. Sorry I don't have an answer but my App just shows what you give it and Retina should appear Retina. Maybe check out your iPhone at the App Store and see what they say at the Genius bar. Let me know what you find out please. Carl |

Carl,
I am running your 2.6, and it's great. I love the reminder of the selected card, as I have made some mistakes now and then, and, as you know, it is hard to avoid embarrassment when the wrong card shows up. I notice that the backing out of an entry using row 4 can be done once to remove the suit selection and twice to remove both suit and value selections. Nevertheless, I have been playing with this feature and I still prefer always to back out both entries and start over. It takes less thinking; it's more automatic, and it's therefore less prone to making another error. Like some of the others in these postings, I would prefer to remove the screen saying Freakin' Way, but I can understand your point about advertising. I note that one now can remove this message but not without removing the touch pad screen. As I need he touch pad screen, I cannot take advantaged of the current option. I use the app in conjunction with a stacked deck and am getting very good audience reaction. Keep up the good work.

Aloha Jim,
Thanks for supporting NFW. The backing out twice to reset both is done this way because you may only need to correct the suit and going back one page at a time also looks normal to the spectator watching closely. The fake Default start up screen that shows Freakin' Way appears for a couple seconds but I feel adds realism to the App as most of them have a splash start-up screen. Also like you said I am trying to sell them I will consider that option for a future update. I like the idea of using it with a stacked deck, I have done that as well. Check out my new App called "Virtual Deck". I think you will love it! |
