If you get Retro tv in your area, they have started airing the Daniel Boone episodes. You can watch and maybe catch the Channing Pollock appearance.
I did catch Lance Burton in his Knight Rider appearance on the same network. Richard

Thanks, Richard.
For those searching for specific episodes, Lance played "Austin Templeton" in the episode 'Deadly Knightshade.' Channing played "Fletcher 'Fletcher the Flamboyant' Cameron" in the episode 'Seminole Territory.' --info according to imdb.com

Thanks for the info.
The magic is not in our sleights and illusions, but instead in our ability to bring love and joy.

I've wanted to see Channing acting for a long time. Sadly, I do not get any channels that air Daniel Boone. I have tried to watch for his appearance on The Beverly Hillbillies too. He played in an episode titled, "Garden Party" I believe.

The old black and white 1959 movie may still be out there somewhere. Many have been put on $1.00 DVDs sold at store checkouts. I have not seen this one that way, but odds are fair.

DVDs of some old shows are being sold at Cracker Barrel. If I'm not mistaken, Daniel Boone was one of them.

I contacted Steven's Magic they no longer have the movie Channing Pollack is famous for, 'Aribian Nights'.
Fess Parker played Davey Crockett and Daniel Boone. Disney owns these rights and only put out a tin boxed set some years back. I bought them to relive the experience of childhood. They are still good movies today. A number of actors played Daniel Boone over the years, it is had to say which is at Cracker Barrel. |

Regan, you are correct. It is European nights.
For those that may not have seen Channings act, here it is in it's entirety taken directly from the video http://www.australianinstituteofmagic.or......temid=72 The first picture is from Ed Sullivan, the second is from the video

I remember seeing Pollock on Sullivan. Interesting bio....didn't realize he moved from magic to acting. Thanks to Dave for posting the videos.

I am still watching the Daniel Boone episodes hoping for an appearance. Maybe we will get lucky.

On the Sullivan video watch the lower right hand corner of the screen when Channing changes the dove to a silk. Even the Great masters can have a bad moment. What is so interesting, I was watching Channing so intensely that after 4 viewing Neil Foster pointed it out to me. I wonder how many others missed it on the 1st viewing.

Wmhegbli,
Interesting that you pointed out this (among magicians) well known "miss". Lay audiences never picked up on this. Channing Pollock once said he judged a magician on how well he covered up his mistakes.
Channing Pollack is my idea of the perfect magician. For those of you that have not seen him perform, I recommend trying to get hold of a video of an old movie called "European Nights" made about 1959.
I was able to buy this video from Stevens Magic |

Channing was my uncle but sadly I only met him a few times.
Here is a link to the Daniel Boone Show he was on. http://www.joost.com/185000z/t/Daniel-Bo......=185000z Bryan |

Movies Unlimited lists "European Nights" on DVD for &19.99 at
http://www.moviesunlimited.com/musite/pr......D62312++ As I recall, this particular clip is his entire 7-minute act including the dove to silk but is cut just before the vanishing cage finale. The bird cage is seen in the background, but for some reason the editor/director chose not to include the vanish. ----- Amado "Sonny" Narvaez
