Check out Urban Legend by Michael Paul. A nice twist on the razor effect that weaves a story that gives reason to have all the props - unlike most of the other version that simply go for shock value.

If there isn't a story, it's nothing more than brag.

Exactly! bluntly well said. So many effects being pushed out to market are nothing more than bragging stunts.

Showmanship is the key especially with this effect

As A Professional I use a combination of Tim Ellis's routine that is very convincing due
to slicing a card & putting blades straight into your mouth rather than a stand etc..
and I use Paul Potassy disposal method-this combined with good music you have
about 4 mins of a great routine that is a show stopper....

My routine is now for sale. It never fails to get a strong reaction and the audiences absolutely believe I am doing what I say I am doing.

I like the Andrew Mayne effect of the ten razorblades doing a card trick ending up with swallowing all ten and a mouth full of blood and the regurgitated blade they choose. No string and ends clean as far as I am concerned. I bought the blades locally and prepared them myself. Plays pretty strong, even close up.

Of course I did modify the routine and handling a bit.
