Ok can I say that I know there's been reviews on this already but they are all good reviews as far as I can see, yes the effect is brilliant, but if you happen to get a badly made gaff then your in trouble.
The effect does work very well and although the card does line up ok there is a gap, it doesn't quite sit flat enough, this can be fixed by various methods suggested already on here, But what I have noticed is that I can't have anyone within say 10 foot of the effect as when completed you can see quite obviously the card is not right, I can't say too much without giving away too much, This is really dissapointing as in the promo video you see people about 1-2 foot away, well I'm sorry that won't work with mine. I payed £50 for this, and quite frankly I feel my gaff looks like a gaff that would cost about £2, and the DVD is worth about £10. So yes the effect is amazing but they say that when we do the effect it will look just like in the promo but mine doesn't and not by a long way. Sorry if this review upsets anyone, but I bought this as I always do NEW magic effects on new years eve at parties and it goes down really good, but I don't feel I can use this as the gaff is so badly made it would blow the method wide open.
How can i perform magic i have 10 thumbs..?
My wife says i'm addicted to cards and love them more than her... I say no i'm not my Queen of Diamonds you know you'll always be 1st in my Ace of Hearts... |

After looking through my old magic today I found I have Blink which I forgot about, and although different it does a very similar thing, this cost me only £10 and is made much better.

Tony,
If you've purchased the effect from http://www.ellusionist.com, send them a mail and ask them to exchange the gimmick. I've seen on their "forum" review of this effect, that a few had get a bad gimmick and got it apparently replaced by them. Try and you'll see. Good luck, Oliver. |

I have three "gimmicks". Two of them work perfectly and one doesn't. I think making this gaff must be a very exacting procedure, and apparently they don't all turn out right.
I still think this is an amazing visual card effect. Robert |

After seeing the gimmick, is it possible to make your own?

Or, a separate quality control person could vet each gimmick before packaging. I was excited about purchasing this trick but didn't after I heard the complaints about the gimmick. Yes, I know Ellusionist will replace, but I just decided I didn't want the hassle. |

Mine works very well... but I also heard other complain...
You COULD make your own gaff, but it would be a pretty tough job. |

I bought this trick a few months back, and it is a very good affect but I am having a little bit of the same problem that tonycrew is having..mine does not sit flat enough; and I don't use his routine because I like to do street magic, and david's routine does take a little bit of a set up, so I made up my own routine, but it just doesn't look right, because of the gimmick.

Here we go again!
Tricks & effects hyped to kingdom come by the magic shops, vendors and on-line outlets and we the 'magic public' are getting ripped off royaly! These people have a responsibility to ensure the products they sell are 100% perfect all the time and every single time. The reply of 'just send it back for a replacement gaff' is NOT the answer to the problem. The answer is ensuring that the manufacturers and re-sellers of such products are held fully responsible. Send the thing back and demand a 100% refund - each and every time. If we all did this then possibly they would think twice about sending out goods that are not 'fit for purpose'. If we contine to put up with it, these guys will continue to do it and get away with it. The answer is in our own hands. TGR

I agree with TGR above.
I made a LOT of window gimmick's for people who got horrible looking gimmicks when they bought it. Some of them that I saw were really bad. But in truth, I never saw one that I myself would have thought was acceptable had I been making them. Even the ones that were O.K. were still not good. I think they must just push them out the door as fast as they can. They are probably made by workers who don't even know what they are for. As to what Cardmaker said above... They aren't that hard to make. At least for me they aren't. The hard part for me was verifying who actually owned the effect!

I just received Window and have the exact same problem as mentioned above. The gimmick is pure junk and would not fool anyone unless they were across the room. What a hassle returning it for a refund.
