Go pick that effect up! I just got it at home with the Daryl video. I watched him perform it a little while ago at Caesars Magical Empire and I just picked it up a couple days ago. It is awesome!

Yes I have this too. It is a very beautiful piece of magic in Daryl's hands, he being the full creator and all.
Do you have any tips on throwing the knot on the rope? I was thinking of attaching a reel on it so I could show the hand empty after the move. What do you think of that, pro? |

Daryl isn't the full creator of the Jumping Knot as I recall it. The Jumping Knot of Pakistan is Daryl's handling of a Pavel effect, Callen the Fantastic Jumping Knot. I actually got a set from the early days from Pavel and it still works great.
I agree that Daryl Martinez' handling of the effect is beautiful and that it is a very commercial piece of magic. Jonas Karlsson Vibono Magic Sweden

I agree with Jonas. So does Daryl. In fact, Daryl credits Pavel with the creation of the effect in Daryl's "Rope Magic Made Easy" (the third tape) from A-1.

Aldo Colombini also has jumping knot ideas and good handling in his Knotty Knot routine!

I got my jumping knot of Pakistan about 8-10 years ago. Back then Daryl included a copy of Pavel's original instructions, too.
The Columbini routine is good, but I can never justify why the knot is changing color after all the moving. Does anyone have a good reason/motivation for the color change? I mean better than "its embarrassed" or "and see, if I rub it on this red mat, the knot changes color"? One last comment - I was in Chicago last week and Ash's Magic had acquired a bunch of Daryl Magic from another shop and was closing it out at pretty good prices. You might want to give Mr. or Mrs. Ash a call... |

Although the Jumping Knot was not part of Daryl's latest lecture, I asked if he could do it in the lecture. He said to bring it up when he was asking questions. He then went on to do the full routine, and he cleared up a couple of minor handling issues for me as well.
Cheers,
