I was told that he has a two gimmicks set up to the mic stand incase one breaks...
Not 100% percent sure that is correct, but it sounds like a pretty good plan.

Anyway when is broken is really hard start againg ,
especially if your hand is in a bad position and the paper fall down like a pendulum,
It's really hard perform it evry whit different audience not stooge,
the effect look great and of course somebody ( audience member on the stage) sometimes can also broken evrythings,
it that moment ,
just cry!!!!

Actually I was in the audience of a HORRIBLE performer in Branson Mo. He actually went down like DC into the audience but stopped at the middle of the first row. There was no candle or mic stand just him. You could tell it was rigged from the ceiling. He started doing the effect and you can guess what happened. When it did he actually picked up part of the secret with one hand and tried to levitate the rose with the other hand. It was horrible. I hear he still performs in certain circles!

Kevin James uses THREE gimmicks when he performs, just in case!

I use a spider pen, with an alpha reel as a back-up in my breast coat pocket. I've actually had breakage, and then just hand the rose out as an origami presentation. It never had a chance to float, but nobody knew the difference.

Usually the problem is not the th...d but the Audience member on the stage (especially if Asian I'm joking)!
I worked on the same stage of KJ and he don't have this kind of problems because his Audience member is a stooge,
and what he use is not the classic i.......e t....d but a really huge one like a fi....g l..e,
so no problem.

Kevin doesn't use a stooge and he uses the same gimmick he sells. I've performed probably 100+ shows with Kevin and can vouch for it.

I've worked with Kevin, like Jason, on many shows and I've seen him do his secret preparation many times so I can attest first hand that he doesn't use a stooge and that he uses the same t....D & Gimmick that he sells!

No stooge, no fi****g line. Pretty much the same as John Kennedy sells. Good stuff!
Highly recommend it if you can control lighting.

I was watching orient express with floating rose recently on my drive. I've had a few failures performing it with friends I'd always wondered if anyone ever witnessed david mess it up Thanks all for the interesting responses.

Didn't see him mess up, but we were sitting next to a lady (spectator) at the end of the row, who "may" have helped him with the final load.....

Really interesting to see it from that perspective.

Yeah. David or Kevin does not use a stooge for the floating aspect...just good audience management. David does get some help for the real rose production...I saw it as well.
