It finally happened today. I always knew my copper/silver was very cheaply made. It was not very good quality at all. You could see a line down the middle of the edge. I dropped it today and it popped right in half. Glue held them together. While I don't know how others are made, I can't imagine them all being made this cheaply.
I am looking to get a copper/silver with a soft walking liberty coin. Is this possible? Can anyone make suggestions to getting at least a good quality copper/silver? I bought my last one at a local magic shop 5-6 years ago, I don't even know who made it. |

Sorry about your C/S coin. Go Schoolcraft or Lassen on Walker C/S. It may take a while to get it but it is well worth it. If you want a good quality Kennedy C/S Johnson makes a good one. I have also found Sterling and Tango make nice C/S coins as well.
Hope that helps and if you need help let me know I may be able to dig up something for you. Also, don't throw away your broken coins. You may be able to make something else out of it. Ask TwoCan. He does stuff like that. TC |

I repaired a c/s with Lepage's 2 part epoxy. I am very satisfied with the result.

You will have to get a quote as Silver is high right now. I think they are about $75 or so.

OK, this is weird. I am getting blank product pages at Johnson's web site, including the link to the C/S above. Anyone else seeing this?
Hopefully it's just some site maintenance going on; after all it's 3:30 am Sunday morning here! Thanks! Jim |

You can just glue it back together easy enough. I've had the same one for years but did awhile back pick up a new one from Johnson's and it's a very well made and nice feeling coin. Yeah there's always a maserate for every mustang out there in these things but Johnson's is really all you need as to all this and your pocketbook. Good coin and products.

I don't know what your needs are but one thing to keep in mind is that the C/S coin should fit nicely into a shell. That is of course, if you want to open yourself up to additional routines. If your are in the market for a shell set, now might be the time to kill two birds with one stone. The coins can all be made to fit.
Epoxy works great for coins. Before using you should scuff up both surfaces to give the epoxy a place to go. |

I encourage buying a complete set from one of the good guys listed above. It would have a C/s, matching copper penny, ex[, Flipper and four matching coins. All would fit teh Ex[ and be completely interchangeable. It would not be cheap, but would last you a lifetime, not only in quality, but variety of tricks you can learn.
Johnson products also offers a C/s with a walking liberty as a stop gap while you save up your money. |
