Hi Guys/Gals
I have an old close up pad that I want to use to Velcro to the top of my close up briefcase. The fabric is pretty much falling of the rubber. You can see that whatever glue was used has deteriorated. I can't tell what was used. What is the best glue for this? Spray? Rubber cement? Thanks

I'd use a thin flexible adhesive like a contact cement. The spray is gonna get onto your fabric, despite precautions. perhaps gorilla glue thinly and evenly applied?
A new pad might be best. There's a good chance that the deteriorated adhesive/foam rubber might be uneven and lumpy no matter what you do. They're cheap, so give it a go first!

Thanks Gaddy. You're probably right about just getting another pad. I wanted to void slicing up a new pad. I'll give it a shot and toss it if it doesn't work.
Thanks

I think if it's just small areas you're applying the glue too, Gaddy's right, brush on would be easier! I personally like "BARG" brand but have had good results with good ol' Elmers contact cement!

From my corner, I always used 3M #77 spray when I was making close up tables.\
