I have made quite a few posts since Nov. 18/2009. I wanted to get back to a topic today and see if anyone had located the searched for book. I searched my user name....last post was 11/18/2009. What happened?

This depends on many factors. If you posted in the let's make a deal forum, those topics are deleted 15 days after the original posting. That means that as of today, any topic started earlier than Dec 3rd was or will be deleted.

You may also have posted in topics that were removed for one reason or another. This could be at the request of the originator or simply because the topic violated our rules for example.

It is difficult to give you an exact reason for your missing posts but those are that I've listed are the primary reasons.
