What a brilliant variation on the card to wallet. I am waiting for mine with bated breath!
I seem to recall Scotty York marketed a h****r style passport wallet a few years ago. Both that and Passport sound like great ideas. Joe Libby San Antonio, TX

I don't like that you have not received your wallet - it was shipped International Priority Mail on 1.2.10. If you email me or pm me I can check that it was sent to the correct address (it was sent to the address you have registered on Paypal). The customs bar code number for the package is: LJ 525 759 864 US Hope this helps! David |

Thank you, Joe. When I showed a magician friend (one with many successful items in the marketplace) the prototype, he told me I should charge $100. I did much of the assembly personally, over a period of months, and was unable to produce great quantity, so I thought I'd sell direct at a low price. The problem with low price points is they can work against you, people will assume something cheap can't have any value! If I eventually make these available through stores, the price will of course be closer to $100. For now, Passport costs $60.

This system is definitely worth more than $60! It's extremely well made and the combination of principles is extremely clever. Get it now, while it's still cheap.

I don't have this, but have been using a Passport wallet as a Mullica for years, so if you haven't ordered David's effect because you weren't sure about using a passport, don't let that hold you back. It's a natural prop and fits in all settings.
David's effect looks killer! Chris

I've had the good fortune of having purchased one (and only one) amazing "card to wallet" throughout the years- The Mirage Wallet. This is a very sweet addition. In fact in some ways, it's even a bit more impossible- as the passport is in a rubber band bound case. With a 100+ wallets out there, this is a fresh, welcome addition. I also want to mention that the gimmick/workings (to my pleasant surprise) are actually quite a bit different than I would have imagined. For such a simple, super clean presentation, there's a lot of interesting stuff going on behind scenes here. One last thing- David teaches a couple of alt. handlings which actually fooled me when watching the dvd. Even knowing the method, I didn't see the work! I personally much prefer the 'alt' handling to the 'waving' method. You can see what I'm talking about half way into the demo. Killer. If you like this plot, you'll love Passport.

After reading the above post from you, I think you should know that passport bears a striking resemblance to Alexander De Cova's Card to Wallet. This is something I don't think you should worry about, as the gimmick Alexander uses accomplishes the same thing, but is different in design. I actually used Alexander's routine for several years. If you want more info, feel free to PM me. I do love the rubber band idea! I have never seen that before, or thought of using that with this principle. And I think the idea of using a passport and a passport holder is simply brilliant! Thank you David, I'll definitely be using this one. |

I had previously checked out this thread and watched the demo, which I liked a lot, but I had assumed that because it came with a fake passport that you had to use the fake passport. Because I travel a lot and people know my passport is beat up and full of stamps, I didn't think the effect was for me. Just read the Genie review which says that your own passport can be used, and going back over this thread I see that it was mentioned earlier here too (which I missed). Is it true that your own passport can be used as is? Or do you have to do anything to it that might compromise it as a traveling document?
UPDATE: Just tried to delete this but I'm too late. I get that it's a real passport now. Looks like a great effect. |

I have sold half my run of Passport wallets already, so I currently have an outside manufacturer seeing if he can duplicate them (the current run was assembled by myself over a period of months, with some die-cut work by Steve Shufton). However, even if this manufacturer is successful I anticipate a one-year delay when my stock is depleted, and a rise in price.
The second half of my current run will sell, so I'm posting this just to keep people from being annoyed with me when I run out! |
