I read in another post here that several attendees thought she did poorly. Seemed very nervous and unrehearsed, which is a shame to hear because I was really hoping that should would do well on her own (without Jonathan).

She's a veteran performer and I hope we see her rise to her full potential Smile

You have to remember, even with years of stage experience that this is a whole different role for her. You could be part of the best team in magic but, running the show takes on a whole lot more. The spotlight is on you .. and only you.

I've been doing just this for quite some time, and I look at it as a roller coaster ride .. from beginning to end. Once the show starts .. there's no stopping it.

I can't think of anything tougher for Charlotte to do, than to appear as a solo performer in front of an audience of magicians. The inevitable comparisons to past and present performances will be made. However, she is a real PRO, and as such, will avail herself to every creative and technical resource available to her in improving the new, solo work.

My 2¢

Quite a bit about Charlotte in this thread about Daytona acts.

Personally I'm hoping the Pendragon's will reunite. Is that wishful thinking?

I was more referring to those who stated they were disappointed with the performance. The details that I've heard about this case are very scary and based on that I would have applauded her no matter what. I don't want to go into detail because it kinda depresses me to think about it.

Famous Magician Fires Not-So-Magic Bullet
Posted Jul 8th 2009 2:02PM by TMZ Staff
World famous magician Jonathan Pendragon was arrested at gunpoint today for allegedly firing a bullet into the floor of his home during a dispute with his wife.

The 46-year-old -- whose real name is Claude Doughlas Yarbrough -- was jailed in San Luis Obispo, California on charges of assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse, terrorist threats and firing a weapon in an inhabited dwelling.

His wife just happens to be the second half their husband-and-wife magic act, The Pendragons.

Bet he wishes he could make this day disappear.

Yes its sad to hear what happened to them. But if you perform in front of the public or your peers you are subject to criticism. Sometimes the truth hurts, but no one is immune from it.

Many well-known magicians have had lackluster performances that set them back. Failure isn't permanent. I'm sure there are many respected magicians who would be happy to help her get the new act on track. If parts of the act were posted as private videos on YouTube, she could send the link to those whose opinion she values. There's going to be a long road ahead, to turn the act around, but I believe she can pull it off.

When Martin and Lewis split in the late 50's, Lewis took the hit. He got his act together and kept going but not without a lot of bombs. He took the heat and the bad comments and delivered eventually.

Like a good Olympic skating team, a partner act cannot go solo.

Probably not the best time to be mounting a new show. That is difficult enough under normal conditions. Best wishes.

They both have to re-consider and perhaps get together just for the show.

If they split then the question is who get's what illusion?

In any case there will be a bitter after-taste left for quite some time.

Wow, I can't believe it, but guess it happens, even to magicians. I would have thought she was on her own due to the arrow he took threw the chest that just missed his heart and almost killing him. DID anyone else see when they were on americas got talent and he told the judges about this?
Sounds to me that hes not having much luck these days.

As many of you know, being a working spouse team can be very challenging at times for relationships. It is easy to get lost in separating work from personal time together. It often happens where they find themselves with little in common other than work. Add other personal challenges and you can find yourself alienating or resenting those that are closest to you. I know too many folks in other fields that find themselves driven apart. You hope they can work those things out and find a healthy balance ... especially when they are so talented together.

Some of you guys worst than the paparazzis. Leave their personal lives out of this. I hope with time she'll become better and better. If you can't say good then don't give her more hard time.
I wish the best for her.

Working a spouse act is not very realstic at this point. From my sources, I have heard that Jonathan is looking at a lot of time in jail. Something in the neighborhood of 5+ years. His charges are much more serious than domestic violence.

I sincerely hopes he get the help he needs and he get eventually go back to work. But to think that Charlotte can just for that amount of time and hope things work out between them is not only silly but totally unrealstic.

I am sure that Charlotte will persevere. Whether she continues to chose to perform remains to be seen. She may find more worthwhile venues and avenues to pursue. It is a difficult time for the best of acts yet alone a new act being broken in.

I guess the real illusion was the way they presented themselves as such a strong partenership. I always admire husband and wife teams in performing, however I think many married couples specialise in this illusion too. I think Charlotte has a lot of guts to keep going on her own.
