I hate these type of shows. They should be illegal.
What effects did it show this time so I know not to perform them anymore.

Street Magic Exposed is pretty much a Blaine Blasting extravaganza so if your worried about this kind of show just stay away from anything Blaine performs.
Frankly I really wouldn't worry about it. These shows have virtually no effect and are little else than a very minor annoyance.

I've only had one problem that they exposed.... the raven They were like, I know what it is... I saw that magic revealed last night. They told ME everything that happens during the trick nothing else I'm worried about.

You Just have to be better Then Them in a way. Show them that it wasn't the trick they saw last night. Pull something out of your @#* if you have to. But let them have a good time while your doing it. Re-Trick them

You know in the Philippines "for give the spelling" I think it was. A man did a T.V. show, like we have and showed you how all the tricks were done. A lot of magican's took him to court and sued him and won.
They claimed he hurt their livelyhood. Too bad we can't all do that.

I was out in Hollywood last night and a few of my friends asked me to perform a few effects for their friends that joined us. While I was doing this a few people walked by and one mentioned that they had just seen the "Street Magic Revealed" show and wanted to check out what I was doing. This didn't bother me because I primarily perform mentalism. I showed them a few effects (stayed away from PK Time, although I use Banacheks method which was not on the show) and closed with my version of PyroPerception. They all loved it and were very greatful. The guy who mentioned the show said what I had done with them was in a totally different world than what was on the show.
I thought this was odd more than anything else. That some random person would see a performer on the street just after seeing the show. Brandon Cross |

I was standing in the bar tonight doing some effects when I did a coin vanish with the raven and the guy said, hey, I know how it's done I saw it on T.V.. So then I said, fine can I see any coin you have and you sign it or inital it before you give me it to me, so you know it's yours and he hands me the coin.
Then I rolled up my sleeves showed both hands empty, apart from his signed coin, and did MELT, his jaw droped!! Moral of the story? Have different ways do do the same effect. alan |

The public never remembers how these things are done. It's anoying to magi, but don't let it get you down.

The Masked Magician is obviously not a REAL magician, so therefore how would he expose the sleight of hand tricks that we perform? He would bore viewers anyways by talking about double lifts and shuffle passes. They simply dig down deep to find and expose the juicy GIMMICKS that magicians have used for so long.
I don't think we have a lot to worry about because I seem to notice that all the shows just make people more interested in magic. This leads to people I meet telling me I'm better than the guy on TV. It's funny though, because some of the tricks are so simple but still people often tell me I'm "The White David Blaine." Just my two cents, Evan Williams |

[quote] Alan, I haven't heard of, or seen MELT. Is this in a book or something? Sounds interesting and I'd like to hear more! Thanks, Kevin |

FOX must have paid this guy a lot of money. I mean, how can he expose his own secrets?
I don't like him! -lol- I'm just glad it didn't air over here, because I love doing the '2 card monte'. |

Evan Williams Elite user 439 Posts |
Yeah the 2 card monte is a very cool and simple trick. Some people that I do it to know how it is done and continue to tell everybody there how "magically ingenious" they are. Some people will tell these people to shut it, and they don't want to know because it takes all of the fun out of magic. While others, are on the tip of their chair listening to every word just so they can attept to show me up.
I have in the past done a sucker trick to some of these people and it shuts them right up. I once had a signed card stuck to my forehead for more than 5 minutes to a guy convinced I had it in a palm or in my pocket. One thing I remember about this loser was he at one point he yelled, "the card is in a "beline" palm in his right hand." This guy thought he knew everything but I continued on to my "Invisible palming" trick and once again he was silent. |

This one is a repeat. I saw it a few months ago and it just got shown again recently. The only people that benefit from this are wannabe Blaines, or magicians that don't know how it's done. This shouldn't be exposed to the general public.
