Any suggestions welcomed. Thinking of a some nice box.
Thanks in advance.

Would a nice display case be suitable?
There are many companies that make custom display cases like this:

If you need total enclosure, perhaps a cigar shop near you would have an oversize wooden cigar box. Then all you need is foam, fabric, tape and hot clue. And maybe a crafty person to help you.

The place near me had several that were better than 14" long and quite narrow.
Sometimes I need to re-glue them for strength. They often have loose wood spacers which can be used to make compartments, etc. If you are clever, you can build mini illusions out of them. Hate to see that tropical wood tossed away.

Just a quick idea as I'm browsing different topic's. If you go to a paintball supply store they have flat foam filled boxes/cases for the barrels on paintball guns you could easily fit five wands in to, I don't know if they are overly expensive but it was the first thing to come to mind, and if you have some nice wood or metal wands it might be just the thing. Hope it helps

My favorite non-magic store is Lowes. Try some pieces of PVC tubing or pipe for bigger holders.

Much Appreciated.
Great input and more ideas - my realization is to have more than 1 holder. The ones for collectables, toy wands and the working ones.
Thank you Jazzy, Punx469, Cayman701 and Mr. Biro!

My wand has a screw on-screw off feature ( its a magic makers wand.)
It is very easy to tuck away into my close-up case for storage.

When I'm traveling/walking around with it I have a holder that is safety pinned to my jacket. The holder is removable but it holds the wand for easy access and disposal.

I have a number of those display cases like the Riker cases. I also have a cabinet that holds them sort of like drawers. I can keep a couple of dozen normal wands in one of those cases.

Thanks Mr. Palmer for input on those cases. Will need to re-look at those.

I recently used some vynal pipe from Menards and cut off a length to make a poor mans wand hold out.

I put them in a old apple sauce jar on my bookshelf. I have a couple because they break being carved from sticks around the yard. Needless to say I am cheap that and I use them as tools and not something flashy to wave around.

J.G - a wand holdout! I see your idea and I would think you would not essentially need the full length of the pipe right just maybe a third of it to fashion the holdout. Do you insert/glue a piece of foam or something into the tube to have the wand "held" by friction.
Thanks J.G.

Harbor Freight tools is another place to find great magic equipment. I bought an Oak machinist tool box with drawers for $50.00 on sale. Makes a very classy close up case. You can find them online at Harborfreight.com.
