Not sure which direction they would go with it or what characters would be involved. I wonder if any of the big theme parks are going to build a "LOST: The Ride" attraction? An amusement park in England built a roller-coaster based on the "Saw" movies and called it "Saw: The Ride." |

We've got a LOST-ish type experience for tourists here in San Francisco -it's called "The Jejune Institute"
look it up if you're ever in SF...

My wife and I watched our DVD of the final episode of season 5 last night and I must say, I don't see how they can possibly answer all the questions in 2 1/2 hours.
I understand that the two writers are planning to disappear for a while after the finale. The reason being that they are afraid everyone will be upset and they don’t want to be around to hear all the angry comments. I’m getting myself set for a big disappointment. That way I won't be as disappointed.

I'm looking forward to the finale. I suspect they will kill off a bunch of characters, and even possibly destroy the island. That wouldn't surprise me too much.
I'm really enjoying the journey. I'm really interested in how the flash sideways and the regular timeline will intersect. I posted my guess earlier, as to the reason for the flash sideways. I think it is a vision / temptation, ala The Last Temptation of Christ (what writers did in that movie). - Donald

Wait, so all this time Vincent was Jack's reincarnated father, and Kate is Sawyer's sister?

It would be cool if Bob Newhart woke up only this time it was in that little Inn and he dreamed lost.

Wait, so that was Aslan lying down with Jack at the end?

Remember when a water-skiing Fonzi jumped over a shark?
That's when "Happy Days" flashed sideways. |

Kevin -
I re-watched the pilot on Saturday night, half paying attention. I think the shoe was on the tree in the beginning of the pilot. Jack was in the same grove of trees for the very beginning and the very end. I think. There were some parallels between the pilot and the end. The eye. Here's another one. Vincent was there when he first woke up (comes running up to him), and also at the end (comes running up to him, lies down beside him). - Donald P.S. I'll admit that I teared up a few times during the finale, especially when people were reunited or had revelations in the flash sideways.

None of it really happened and all the characters simply figments of his dying imagination. The entire episode was a futile exercise in maudlin claptrap. The writers hadn't enough chutzpah to actually kill off a character. But instead had to stick them all in some poorly thought out quasi purgatory where some get to move on while others are seemingly stuck in it and others simply not allowed to go there. all it was missing was the onion rings to make it the worst season finally ever. Not counting the ill conceived and overly literal ending to the abysmal Life on Mars remake

Overall, Payne, I would agree. People have thought for awhile that it was a purgatory situation. How was the shoe a hint to you? So they died? Or they didn't?
I don't think any of us fly planes, but it looked to me as though that plane wasnt going anywhere after the crash, but my main man frank got it going with a little duct tape and luck

Were any of these questions ever answered?
Click here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eomWspUS8B0 The finale was done well in terms of acting, filming, and soundtrack. I'm glad the convoluted story is over, though. Was disappointed to see that they used the old "everybody is really dead" plot device. The writers promised early on that they would NOT be using that device. I guess it was the easy way out for them considering all of the unaswered, valid questions that are in the above video link. Glad it's over.... |

If no time has passed then the most expedient explanation as to what has occurred on the island in the last six years is nothing. It's all been a vision in Jack's traumatized and crash injured brain. None of it really happened. this would also explain the shot of the recently crashed plane wreckage on the beach at the end of the show.
