I was intrigued as to why they showed the Dharma village underwater in that one brief scene. What was that all about??

Lost is great - it's the only show I follow.
Do you think it's possible for the MIB to occupy more than one body at a time - such as Sayid, Claire, and Locke? Or does Sayid's coming back to life have another explanation? |

If I had to guess, I think that it was Jacob who came back to life in Sayid, but the temple others don't know it. They suspect that it is "the dark entity" who has "claimed" him.
I wonder about the temple others knowing that Jack's sister was "claimed" by a darkness. What was in the pool (that the dunked Sayid in) that made it so it was no longer clear? Was it the same pool that they used to heal child Ben Linus? I loved the line that Dr. Goodspeed (Ethan Rom) gave to Claire at the hospital in the flashsideways, saying he didn't want to stick her with unnecessary needles. Also, wasn't it interesting that those two temple others, who attacked Jin at the end of this week's episode. One said to the other, "We can't, he's one of them" (when one of them was going to shoot Jin). Like the people from the Oceanic flight are special or chosen, and to be protected. I don't think that Locke is "claimed" ("possessed") by the smoke monster. The real Locke is dead. The smoke monster is taking his form (imitating him). Also, I heard a theory that when we saw Claire on the island at the end of the episode, and she shot and saved Jin from the two temple others, that Claire is "possessed" with the spirit of Danielle Rousseau. Not sure what I make of that. But in the quick showing of her, she was acting and looking more like Danielle than like her old self. There are parallels. - Donald

Maybe Rousseau was just badly wounded and Claire saved her life. They could be hanging together with Rousseau as her mentor. It's been a few year after all.

So, does that mean Claire is (has been) "claimed" by "the darkness", when he referred to Jack's sister? Jack does know that Claire is his sister. Also, it was nice to see more explanation about the numbers and the characters on last night's episode. 4 8 15 16 23 42. Did you catch that there was no number shown for Kate? - Donald

Donald,
When are we told/shown jack knows claire is his sister? Thoughts about why Kate had no number? Have they ever showed Jacob meeting her in "real life", like sawyer, jack, ect? Anyone remember the episode where juilet and someone were walking and they encounter some Others who speak in latin, and juilet knows they are Others? who was the kid?

When they show up as the Oceanic 6, Jack is told by Claire's mom that she had a relationship with Jack's father. I think it's at the wake they had for Christian (Jack's father) after the survivors were "rescued".
Jack reacted to it, because he realized at that moment that Claire was his half-sister, and therefor Aaron was his half-nephew. http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/Jack_Shephard I couldn't remember the name of the episode, so I did some research. It was on "There's No Place Like Home, Part 1" (Season 4, Episode 12): http://lostpedia.wikia.com/wiki/There%27......,_Part_1 I think that's also how Kate knew to give Aaron over to Claire's mom (Carole Littleton), before she left to return to the island. Before then, they hadn't told Claire's mom that Aaron was her grandson. But they knew from the wake. - Donald P.S. About one of your other questions. Kate met Jacob as a young girl, when she got caught stealing a lunchbox from a store. ("The Incident, Part 1")

That scene where "Locke" is talking to Sawyer about being 'trapped' was amazing. I love Ole' Smokey!

In the flashbacks, it seems Jacob touched every one of the main players early on in their lives, prior to the crash.
Except for Hurley. Didn't Jacob show up and touch Hurley AFTER Hurley had already been to the island? Not that this means anything, just checking that I have it correct in my mind.

Thank you Donald, for the research. Are you saying "theres no place like home" is where they speak latin?
I do think it was after the return that hurley met jacob, and he gave him the guitar case to bring to the island. What about Walt and his father? Ben, a school teacher??? That was crazy how all the cast members met up in real life. Mike-they never showed her number, I don't think. And as Gaddy pointed out, she is obviously not a candidate-if her name wasnt there. And some of the cast had met before the crash, like desmond and jack running at that stadium and having a chat. Did rose mention the cancer on the island ever? Would the island have cured it like it did Locke? -I have heard that the creator of the show says it will end with an "image", or something.. Some how they will wrap it up, but soooooo much I don't get.

All we really know is that they didn't show a number representing Kate, of the 6 main numbers they showed. We don't know that one doesn't exist for her. They might show one for her later on.
The "MIB" (man in black) implied that of the 6, each was a possible candidate. We know that one was removed (Locke). And it would seem that Sawyer has teamed up with the MIB, so he is removed as a candidate, too. BTW, I made a guess earlier. I think that Jacob's "spirit" went into Sayid in the pool. That would make him the "candidate." - Donald

One thing that I think is odd is how, throughout the entire show, The Others (by definition -the followers of Jacob) are shown to be brutal, mean, amoral killers and manipulators; but, this season, all the antagonistic drama is being thrust onto my favorite character, "the nemesis"/ Ole' Smokey, and Jacob is being portrayed as some sort of savior. Frankly, I'm with Sawyer and Smokey!
Sure, my tastes are a bit twisted -my favorite characters being (in no particular order... or IS there): Kelvin, Eloise, Ben Linus... well, the list goes on! PS-anyone else notice all the ads for scientology on the lostpedia?

On the LOST wiki page, there are lots of different things that people observed.
One thing that someone picked up on was that Locke needed a person to kill for him earlier on. He had Sawyer kill his father on his behalf. Locke couldn't do it himself. Locke's dad was the person who had conned Sawyer's parents, before his father murdered his mother and then committed suicide. (This was several seasons ago, when Locke was asked to kill his father in order to get accepted by the Others. I think it happened on The Black Rock, but Locke brought the body back to the Others.) And how the Flocke (Fake Locke) needed Ben to kill Jacob on his behalf. Interesting parallel. I hadn't picked up on that. The one parallel I did get on this episode was when Flocke said "Don't tell me what I can't do", to the boy in the jungle after falling down. That was a classic Locke line. Who is the boy? Why was he injured in one scene (the one where Richard couldn't see him but Flocke could) - he had bloodied arms? Why was he not injured in the other scene (the one where Sawyer could see him as well as Flocke)? - Donald
