I tell ya it would make more money than a teacher on a dunk tank at a high school carnival.

Definition of "to command respect"
4.to deserve and get; require as due, proper, or becoming to command respect. Only magician to have won the Merlin Magician of the Year award twice (in 2001 and 2004). Criss Angel won the Academy of Magical Arts' Magician of the Year award in 2005 and the IMS Magician of the year for 2007 and 2008. The first two season DVDs for Angel's television show have been the #1 and #2 best selling DVDs in A&E’s history Angel has donated time and money to many organizations across the globe. He gave to a local charity in my town (cmsckids). Didn't hear about that one I bet. Perez Hilton the internet's most notorious gossip columnist? Come on really! I have talked to many people in the industry that respect Criss’s work and those who do not. These folks include people that are in his “camp” and those that are way on the other side. The haters seem to all pick out the mistakes as if they themselves could do better. Yet I have not seen their mugs on T.V. or Vegas. The supporters see the hard work and time that goes into making a character. They also see how the person deals with adversity and politics. Many people in our industry say and do, not so cool things. Sometimes you have to crack a few eggs to make an omelet. Why pick on this individual? Because he is an easy target. People watch his T.V. program. Girls like him. He has quite the support team of outstanding magicians and a show in Vegas that makes money. The W.O.R.M.s in magic cannot stand him. The other thing is jealousy in the fact that he makes more money than we the unknowns do. Bottom line, if he were Criss the Conjurer from RI doing bar gigs we probably would not hear a peep from the haters. Kudos Destiny you stand behind your comments. The unavoidable issue is when and whether it’s okay for journalists to rely on information provided by people whom they don’t identify by name in their stories. Read more: Why Journalism Needs Anonymous Sources http://nymag.com/nymetro/news/columns/im......ePwCUB12 As far as the word faggot. I have lived in San Francisco and experienced the Castro. The people that I met did not give a d##n about the word and yes they were homosexual. I can't really speak for the homosexual peoples's feeling toward magic boy, but I doubt it raises them any concern. Magic and persecution have gone hand in hand since the begining of time.

This may have all started when he threatened to blind a Las Vegas journalist. So now all journalists are out to get him.

I have to admit though, he does not make it too tough for them.
If I understand this correctly - if a person makes a derogatory - belittling - offensive statement towards an individual or group of persons, it's the individual/groups fault because they're offended?!? That doesn't sound quite right - How does this logic play with ethnic, religious or social class insults?
I see so you have never once in your entire life said anything to belittle someone...i am sure your posts in this thread from you speak for themselves...and here is a question that other person that Criss was referring to are you positive he is not Gay? Because had he have been then that statement would have been referring to the fact that the other guy would not want any girl in that audience because of his preference...next of all...in your life you have never called anyone a name or made fun of them in some way or hurt someones feelings with a comment...you are not perfect...no ones perfect...not one person on this planet is perfect...A lot of people will say things in this world that not everyone will like...people are dying daily and your worried about a word that someone said...? Or is this simply a case of jealousy because you cannot do the things he can do and because he has been successful and has worked hard to make his dreams come true...so maybe if you bash him in here it will make you feel a lot better and from the looks of it its ok for you all to bash him and belittle him maybe read the posts over again...that is hypocrisy at its greatest...have a wonderful day everyone... |

And on that note I find your Criss bashing offensive so should I therefore go start a thread called Criss bashing at the magic Café...and then drag your name through the mud...? It's no different then what you are doing here...Thing is I would never do that...maybe instead of seeing the bad in someone you should look at the good...how many children did you support for Christmas? How many dying children have you given a smile too? How many hearts have you touched? Maybe you should look into the good things about him before you go throwing around the bad things...

While the article's a little old, it's heart warming and touching.
Speaking of touching - probably fortunate he didn't catch up with R Kelly till the later celebration. |

I've seen him perform a few times. I STILL have no idea... Can't even get a good fix on him as to weather or not he's "serious" or not. He's the "Steven Colbert" of the "cool magician" genre.
He's doing a short run at Exit Theatre here in San Francisco in early March. Maybe he can give Chris Angle a few pointers...

I just checked out the Exit Theater link and Stallion's website. I wish I lived closer to SF. Maybe we could all chip in and have Gaddy see the show and write us a review. The guy is multi=talented, I noticed on Stallion's website he also teaches Traffic School.

That means pre-divorce couples convicted of drunk driving have a chance of making things right and can kill two birds with one stone by hiring Stallion. Plus he does card tricks. What a guy.
