OK,usually I'm a lurker and don't post much of anything, but I have a challenge. We're not allowed to call them problem where I work I need to produce a person on a completely bare stage. The setup is a swirl of video images on a midstage projection screen, as the images flash out of control, a beloved movie and tv character appears from out of nowhere. We are thinking of using a flash tray to hide the appearance but are limited to 8 feet of clearance around the product.
Anyone have any ideas. It has to be a completely bare stage, anything on it, ie. black velvet shroud etc, will pick up the light from the video screen. If Harry Potter's invisibility cloak were real, that's what I need.'Thanks in Advance and Happy New Year |

How about walking out of the screen?

Front projection or back projection? How big is the screen? The devil (and the solution) is in the details you've not mentioned.

The screen is rear projected and 31' x 20'. the biggest problem is that even with the stage in complete blackout, the lights from exit lighting picks up everything on stage.

Refer to the JC Sum books. There is enough practical material there on productions.
