A regular paint mixer will hold two or three spray cans somontain er... somotainiouls er... at the same time....... but you can't shake just one. I have a double can shaker and do 6 cans at once even if I don't have to. You could take a pint can and make a shell, out of it, which holds a single can of spray and an elastic band on a ring to hold the can in place (no top) but I'd much rather shake 6....... just because I can.
Then light the sawdust on fire. OR Spread the sawdust out. real thin. Lay a board on top, Step on the board. Turn board face up. Remove the parts that have embedded themselves and those are the screws. Or run the sawdust through a strainer Ot put a sock on the end of your vacuum hose and pull the screws off every 10 seconds. Or light the sawdust on fire.

The calmer more boring method is merely to spread the steel wool free sawdust out and use a blow dryer to blow away the lighter wood dust and leave behind the heavier brass screws. Not as much fun! Or throw everything in a pail of water and skim the sawdust off the top. Or buy 10,000 so the cost is about the same as two hundred - then you won't care about the few you lose

I think I'm probably more ticked at my clumsiness than the cost of the screws. I generally buy a thousand or so at a time.

That would work but probably overkill for me. Harbor Freight has a pneumatic shaker but I may see if I can make a few parts and come up with a little something myself. Wouldn't take much horsepower to shake a can of spray paint.

Thank you Gimpy. The linking ropes are in the Sefalaljia Number 2 routine and were originally invented by Paul Curry I think it was (according to SJ) and all based on the Sefalaljia move. I don't think the SJ routine used different colored ropes but I used the red and yellow for contrast. I'm definately into dovetails right now. I can only get better at it. Mine is based on the orange SJ #2 book published in 1980 by Ray Massecar. Originally Jeff Busby asked me to build his version too (around 1988) but he and I had a "falling out" before we got there.

Those are picures of the final prototype. Ive added a couple more "refinements" to the cabinet since taking those pictures. It's a beautiful cabinet and Im very happy it came into my life.

What I really need is a one or two spray can paint mixer. Seems like I saw one for gallons at a hardware store that "rolled" the cans. DO I rememper right???
Might be able to work something out using the base of a small rock tumbler if that's the case. Any ideas on it would be welcome.

How about getting a cardboard tube (cement construction) and wedging the can inside, Put that on the tumbler. This way the can turns end for end.

Good idea, Jay. I'll post that one on the possible board.
Today for a few minutes I was in business when I rigged up a clamp to hold the can on the shindle of my spindle sander thinking only of the up and down motion and forgetting the rpm of the spindle. The can came spinning out of the mount at a high velocity and might of killed me if I wasn't so hard-headed. Thinking about the Jay approach maybe theres a way for the cardboard tube to extend beyond the tumbler's wheel so have a can mount on each end. Something to look into. There's an old 45 rpm record player at the junk shop down the road. I wonder if thers any way to rig that thing up??? I think he had it marked $5.

I can really get a visual image of your reaction when that spindle sander decided to chuck that paint can back at you!! The only thing missing from that scene is a laugh track! Heck, that ready-made is only $22.95 with FREE shipping!
