Guys I would love to know what your experience is with the movie file that's on the last 2 Reel Magic discs? Is this working good for you guys?
Thanks Koz |

Up till now I have been a "collector" of Reel Magic, meaning I have most of them, but haven't watched them.
I'm much more likely to watch them on my iphone while I'm out and about. Thank you!

Haven't a iPod, nor an iPhone, nor an iAnything, so I just watch the DVDs.

I watched them all night and they just sat there. Somebody told me I'm supposed to put them in some kind of machine, but I think he was just funning me.

I haven't received the latest Reel Magic yet (I'm hoping it's just a problem with clogged New Year's mail here in Japan). I'm subscribed, so I should be getting it soon. But I did use the file for the previous issue and love the fact that you include them now!
However, I use it on my PSP, and that means that I had to convert the video to work with it. I don't know why it has to be converted since they're both mpg files, but...Oh, well. Still, I love the convenience of the feature! I understand that iPod Touch and iPhone are more prevalent in the US, so I guess the format makes sense. (It's just one extra step. I can handle it.) Thanks for the feature! Bill |

I just watch from my laptop too, not from iphone or the like. But I think it is a great addition. Reel Magic is my favorite magic magazine and I subscribe to all of them. Just being able to watch part and come back later is great, and being able to see things vs. just reading about them, makes a big difference. Plus a lot can be said for voice inflections and video in interviews that can change the emphasis of what is being said. Great Stuff!

Koz,
You probably don't remember me...we met at Daytona this past November...and I spent the last cash I allowed myself for the convention on Reel Magic. Let me say, it's the best money I spent that weekend. And I absolutely love the Reel Magic Movie File! I play it at work on my ipod when I'm being productive...and it's what I'm doing when I am not being productive....it may in fact be the cause! Either way, I think it's great! I look forward to seeing your lecture this month! Make sure to bring copies of your Tales from the Street DVD too! Haha! Best, Josh |

I love it! I traveled to Portland to take my kids back to their mom, and while I couldn't watch it and them... on the way back, I was able to watch it on my iPod classic.
Thanks so much! John |

Yet another fine issue of Reel Magic Magazine - April 2010.
Koz, you are doing an excellent job - never stop. After all, it's the only time I get to see you now-a-days. By the way ... was that your voice during the intro to the Eric Jones promo? Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I saw some clips in the promo that were not on the DVD set. Silly B. told me more about mouth coils than I ever knew before. Hummm, 200 feet. I like the new "Be A Stars" section of this edition. You're always willing to support the little man ... and the big man ... and every man in between (and woman). I bought Up Levitation too!!! In a real, functioning, magic shop. Nice effect. Jeff McBride ... I think I've seen him once ;-) Great to see ya!! Hurray for Simon! I have to say that I am one of the few that do the opposite - I search online and then I go and ask/buy at a local magic shop. I'll even travel to find a shop tht has what I want. Support your local shop!!

Is there any chance of getting issues 12 and earlier as ipod files? I really like having my reel magic collection on my iPod as I can dip into it when I have a free moment.
I would be happy to do this myself using a DVD utility (such as HandBrake) but the way Reel Magic is setup on the disc there isn't one 'title' to convert to an iPod file. Any ideas, tips, or availability of files? |
