Heh, here's a more recent article from Limbaugh's site:
http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/s......est.html Back in early 2009, Obama was saying to invest in the market saying that "buying stocks is a potentially good deal if you've got a long-term perspective on it." Limbaugh sort of mocked Obama about this, but in hindsight we can see who was right. Don't take my word for it. Check the facts. :)

I don't give a rats hind parts what Limbaugh says about Obama, how about what Obama says?
http://beltwayblips.dailyradar.com/video......olitics/ Obviously you must have missed it. Can we stop the Limbaugh/Beck stuff at least with me please? Here it is in print. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/politic......ing.html So in short yes he said it. When it goes down well then it is not a big deal, when it goes up, well he is god. Pathetic politics at best.

Danny, you should really read my link before you attack it. It says what you just wasted several minutes looking up. Yes, Obama said the market was like a daily tracking poll on a day by day basis. So what? On a day by day basis, it is. He also said people should take advantage of the lows and buy. In hindsight, that was genius advice.

The tracking poll comment is certainly true, and similar to one of Buffet's better-known quotations - the market is a voting machine in the short run, and a weighing machine in the long run.

And I wasn't attacking your "link" I was pointing out that HE DID SAY IT! And now as usual supporters want to brush it right under the rug.
I also still don't care what "Rush" or any of the others say. Why try to paint me with that brush? (well I know why, I just wish you would stop doing it to me)

It's funny what people read into things. I just said the DOW Jones rising must indicate "something". Considering this thread is supposed to be on economic news, it might mean the economy is stabilizing or maybe turning around. I postulated no reason, nor even any idea as to what the something might be.
You guys are the ones who read politics into it. I was just trying to get us back onto the economic track.

On the last day of Bush's presidency, the Dow was at 7949. It's now right around 10,800. Do you think for one moment that if the situation was reversed and the previous administration was Democrat and the present administration was Republican that the republicans wouldn't be trumpeting that fact and crediting themselves while demonizing the Democrats?? The Limbaugh's, Hannity's, etc. would have a field day with just that statistic alone!

When you give the Wall St boys trillions to play with, the game is bound to look biggger. When that is all gone, then give them all the pension founds to play with. But the Government would never do that would they?

Really quibbling over words here, aren't we? Call it something else if you like. It was still really, really, really good advice. Many people were mocking him for giving it. And the consensus at the time was hardly to invest ... many advisers were suggesting that people pull money out of the market at the time.

Balducci, almost EVERY invester I know of (and beleive it or not it is in the hundreds) was starting to buy in right about 6800-7000 heavy. They just KNEW it would not keep going down too much further.
The market has a way of self righting, almost in spite of who is in the oval office. Many will argue the recovery has taken far longer than it should have or has traditionally happened precicely because of decisions of Obama and such. It is tough when these guys are cowards and take credit for anything good, and dish out blame for anything bad. ("these guys" being anyone in the office at the time by the way, not only the current occupant) Makes it VERY tough to take them seriously.
