Was that the year that Sultangali Shukurov and Sara Kabigujina tied for the Grand Prix with Ger Copper?

Yes. Ger was "expected" to win... the European's figured it was his turn... BUT... and I wrote a major article in Genii about this, he WAS OFF, DID A BAD SHOW. S&S killed, and should have won the Grand Prix by themselves... but the judges decided to call it a "tie." (Having been a FISM judge myself, I can imagine the lobbying and pressure from a few caused that). Initially Ger was PO'd at me for my article, but later told me I was right.

In case anyone is interested, I believe Sultangali and Sara both work at the Almaty State Puppet Theater in Almaty, Kazakhstan
