Well, it was recently conceded, but 4-6 weeks ago Brown was behind by 30% points. I'd say his victory was a shocking upset!

The only ones surprised by the outcome of this election, are the ones that rely on the liberal media and left-wing blogs for their reality.
The majority of people do not want a government so intrusive that they lose the right to chose what is best for themselves. The majority of people are not willing to give up their rights guaranteed by the Constitution, in exchange for a government program that limits their quality of life, no matter how well it is desguised.

A woman who phoned in to NPR's Talk of the Nation yesterday said that she'd voted for Martha Coakley, but that she wasn't surprised that Scott Brown won the election because he'd run a better campaign. She said that Coakley only campaigned in Eastern Massachusetts, completely ignoring Central and Western Massachusetts.
I find that incredible. Massachusetts isn't big enough to have a Western Massachusetts, a Central Massachusetts, and an Eastern Massachusetts. |

He appears to be a RINO of the first order and his Republican base, what little he has as he was voted into office by Independants, is going to quickly turn on him if he breaks ranks from the party line. He's allready on thin ice being pro-choice. His election is still voters dissastifaction of the status quo and the continuation of failed polocies. The people want change, a new direction and so far neither party is offering anything close to that. Obama has been a huge dissapointment as he's become, or most likely revealed, that he's just the same old ccorporatist politician we've had in office for the last fifty years. |

I would think that incorrect , Tom. Mass has been a Dem stronghold for years, and then to lose?
I heard a lot of newspeople say, "the country has spoken...", no the citizens of mass spoke.

I would agree, to a point. However, I don't see this as a liberal media issue. Mass is a dem state, and for the Rep. to win was a big upset and a statement. I wouldnt take this win/loss to mean that the country has decided about one isssue, granted a very large issue.

Do you not think this is an indication of the way the rest of the country is leaning? I mean if a state that has been a strong hold for the Dems for so long would put partisan politics aside and do what is right for America, don’t you think that speaks in a loud voice?
The people that were watching and reading something other than the liberal media and blogs like the ones that Payne posted were not surprised and the people of Mass does reflect the way most Americans feel about the political games being played by this administration.

It would appear that the country is leaning that way, I just objected to what I heard numerous times yesterday-"the country has spoken"
