I just got this and read through it. I haven't performed the effects yet, so these are my first impressions.
The grammar problems are all pretty much solved. There are still a few minor grammatical and spelling errors, but really only a few, and nothing that prevented me from understanding what he was trying to say. HOT has some interesting ideas that I will be very interested in trying. I liked the method behind the phase of the routine where you catch the coin and it always lands on the side that the spectator called out beforehand. As mentioned in some of the above posts, using one word in one phase of the routine may not make sense to some and you may need to work around it or slightly adjust the suggested patter to suit you. I have come up with some possible work-around patter that I will try out. I'm looking forward to trying Bubbles to see how it looks. Its a nice idea, and if it works the way it is described, it will be a really cool revelation. I'd like to use it, although I'm not sure how often I will be in a situation where I have an empty glass and a can of carbonated beverage ready to pour. Maybe at a party, but probably not at a restaurant, since presumably the beverages would have already been poured before they were brought to the table. (I should mention that I usually don't have carbonated beverages in my fridge, but may have to make an exception for this). Also wondering if this would work with beer... would give some summer barbecue opportunities. The Pure Thing is really something special, and is probably not for everyone. It is purely psychological, which I really like. It really is about as close to real mind reading as you can get. As others have said, it is based on a principle that is available elsewhere, but Nefesch gives a handling, presentation, and patter, that is unique as far as I am aware. I will definitely try this out as I like these types of effects, and I really hope it works, and will do my best to get good at it. I think it will take some work, but will be worth it. Overall, some might have charged $15 for an effect like the Pure Thing alone, so I think this ebook is fairly priced and is not a waste of money. In a world where some single effects that are rehashes of old effects sell for $30 or more, here you get 3 effects with some original thinking and great ideas for $15. If you think any of these effects might interest you or fit into your repertoire or with your performing style, pick it up. |

So far I tried The Pure Thing with my wife, and I'm happy to report that it worked perfectly! I got the card she freely only thought of, and she didn't say a word or write anything down. She was pretty amazed and had no idea how I got it. I was amazed with myself too.

I agree that there were errors in Right Now, but as has been mentioned already in this thread,
books have been sold before that have even more errors (Alchemical Tools, for instance), but still may have useful tips. At first I was unsure whether that phrase "don’t take a look at it yet, do it, now think what do you think it HIT up" was really effective. That's the one part where the wording is MOST important. But if you think about it you can rewrite it, and even throw in more suggestions. I'm really in love with HOT, for its simplicity. About a year ago I did it on the phone with my then girlfriend, just the first phase. I know it's just a one shot deal, but it gets people thinking. There aren't many effects like this you can do over the phone, without sending them something first. Just tell them to grab a coin and you're ready to go. You could probably freak half of your friends out by doing the first phase of HOT, then just guessing for the second. If you call up 10 friends, you will be right twice for 5 of your friends. That'll get them talking! |

Question: I saw the manuscript on penguin ( http://www.penguinmagic.com/p/2892 ) but it no longer mentions anything about HOT, nor does it costs 10$ anymore but 15$ in stead. Is this the same manuscript as described in this thread?

Could anyone tell me this? Tomorrow I'm leaving on a trip for a month and I have a 15$ certificate with penguin that I would like to use for an instant dl. Currently I'm doubting between this, "Stain alive" (gregory wilson) and "Controlled Coin Flip (Jay Noblezada). But if this also has a controlled coin flip in it, it would make my choice a lot easier.

I'd recommend one of the other two over the noblezada one. AOA has a great coin flip by Greg ... but Nefesch's is very good too.
