I used to have six of these and have eventually lost/worn out all of them. They had a great surface that was as smooth as cloth-- but now it seems like ALL the pads are called "Apollo".

Does anyone remember the ORIGINAL Apollo Pads?
And can anyone tell me where or if I can still get them?

Instead of Apollo close up pads, you might want to try Pattrick's Mats . Good stuff!

I have tried 2 pads within the last couple of years both I thought were Apollo.
They both separated within days.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

I'll second that. Patrick's close-up pads are the finest in the business. I have eight of Patrick's pads in various sizes and shapes--they are simply the best.

You can still get them but they are backordered.
I also like the Zeus Pads. A little thicker than the apollo.
I want to try out the Patrick Pads but have not ordered any yet.

Steven, check out the Magician's Choice mats by Ronjo. Thick, durable, and easy to clean. You can get them from Ronjo or just Google "Ronjo close up mat" and you'll get tons of hits. I've gotten good use out of mine.

No kidding, Mick! It seems to be made from about a quarter inch of wetsuit neoprene. That should last Steven through one performance, ya think?

I have a couple Apollo pads, but I will second the reccomendation for Patricks pads. There are top notch. He is going to be at Magi-Fest in case you'r going or know someone who is.

Denny and Lee's had Apollo Pads the last time I was at his shop. Personally, a Large Allsop mouse pad works just as well for relatively cheap pricing.

I've tried various Mouse pads of varying size, shape and top cloth over the past few years and never been completely satisfied!

Maybe he should change the name to "Pat's Mat's" Smile
