Are there any one-man illusions that are not expensive; approx. $2000 price range, or even better if they are possible to make, (like if plans are available for it).
Having stagehands is not an issue, but an assistant.... Almost every illusion I know is either way too expensive, cheap but not able to build due to rights, or require an assistant. *Meaning illusions not illusionettes such as; Floating Table, Snow, etc.. Also, nothing an audience member is involved in; Suspension 3001.

Shrink Boy Illusion is reasonably priced this is an effect where you make a boy or assistant shrink to a small size then restore them. The flying barstool levitation is also a great effect. Both these illusions are priced in 2000- 2500.00 range. Pm me if I can be of further assistance

I don't really see anything that interested. Most of what I see are more illusionettes. Only thing I see is the 'walking through a mirror'

Peter's Walking through a Mirror Illusion looks very good, & at a reasonable price too.
Thru Steel from Smoky Mountain Magic is very good. Shrink Boy can also be performed whereby the magician is compressed. Magellan Levitation might be an option if you are into Levitations. The other option is to look at the Andrew Mayne site - he has a lot of one man ideas.Solo X contains his A Frame & Shrink Boy effects. |

Hi M.Frymus
Have you thought about Nathon Burton's Rubberneck Illusion, it is a very effective one man illusion that packs small and plays big. We happen to have one in the Used Magic section of our website at http://www.aptricks.com/used_magic.php and it is right around your price range. Let me know if you would like to see a video of this illusion performed. BTW, I'm also from Oakville. Let me know if you have any questions. Aaron

Andrew Mayne's "Solo X" is a good book for finding such illusions.

*What illusions are included and a performance description.

I meant more specific.
'CYCLONE - Crawl through a compact disc' That makes no sense. I don't get it at all! Is there someone who has the full explanation of how the routine goes?

People may not be agree but I'm sure that Andrew Mayne's IN HALF has potential for what you looking for. Plus, if you have some budget, you can build it more solid.
I might build it for myself one day. Johnny |

I was also thinking of that Johnny. But, I'm doubtful of it.
I found some neat stuff on youtube. One of an illusion which the magician is tied/chained up in a box and needs to escape before the spikes fall. Its like the Greg Frewin escape. Do I need permission for this? If I do, I will buy it only if it does not require it to be built by an authorized builder. I can then build it myself. Do you think this would be a good idea? *I don't think you do, since I have a book with plans and there is a similar escape in there. Just that it is in a closed box instead of in the open. But, still the same pretty much.

Check out Dan Wolf's "This end Up" at Smokey Mountain Magic. This is great!
Also, Houdini's Rope is a great one man illusion that uses audience volunteers. http://www.richhillsillusionshop.com/houdinisrope.htm
