Poor business model and dumb decisions from the top. Even most liberal talk hosts agree. However, liberal talk radio isn't dead.

Nah, the real trolls are the right wing talk show hosts who gloat over its corpse.

Yea and guys like Olberman and (galslike) Maddow are saints right?
Get over your talking points. IF it was popular it would have found an audience and made money. Alan Colms manages somehow. Air America spent their entire 6 minute career trying to destroy right wing radio hosts, and somehow now it is bad that the winner is happy? Would they all not gloat if Rush was done? Really you are sort of blinded aren't you?

At least it's one less target for Rush and O'Rielly.
I do wish liberal talk hosts would talk more (and more constructively) about ideas and less about people. Jon Stewart's parody of Olbermann was dead on. I think Maddow does a decent job of discussing ideas; her radio show did a lot of it, but I think her producers at MSNBC occasionally give her topics she must talk about on her TV show. I've seen segments where it's pretty obvious she doesn't want to cover what she's covering. (And other segments where the topic fills her with glee, like "infrastructure".) Oh- Quote: There's the type of thinking that's dividing us. It's always got to be "winners and losers", "winner take all, loser go home", "pass a bill they win, block a bill we lose", "We win if there's no opposing viewpoints."
... and somehow now it is bad that the winner is happy? Whatever happened to real debate and compromise- working for the good of everyone, not to beat your opponent? Besides, if the liberal viewpoint went away entirely, all those radio hosts would be out of a job.

Jon Stewart is funny and entertaining and is the best liberal pundit on the tube and rightfully so.
Our friends don't have to agree with me about everything and some that I hold very dear don't have to agree about anything, except where we are going to meet them for dinner.

I remember a time when I could listen to a radio host for months, and not know their political affiliation.

John Stewart is an incredibly funny man, or at least his staff of writers is. HE is able to deliver it flawlessly and I love to watch him.
As for "compromise" well, that is never a good idea. I say GUNS for everyone. You do not want any guns, so where is the compromise? The middle is that some guns are out there. Then later I want guns for everyone again, and since we already have some guns, we get more guns. EVERY time you compromise on your position, and give me 1/2 of what I want, I get closer to MY goal, while you get further away from your original position. It is not too long before we are at my goal and your position is gone forever because you wanted to compromise. But is it good, I have always given up 1/2 of my ideas, but in the end I end up exactly where I always wanted to be, and you are out of luck. So go ahead tell me how great compromise really is. So I do not think "compromise" is good because when you ask for radical shifts in the way our country is set up, compromising will only eventually lead to everything you want. This is why there are winners and losers.
