Fellow Josh Zandman Fans, the Z-Man has released one of his pet routines. For those of you who didn't know about it yet, here's the synopsis:

No One-Ahead. No Switches. No Sleights.

A combination of principles that mixes Psychometry and Numerology with a 4th Dimension Telepathy routine. Although this uses cards, this is not a card trick. Cards are used for their numbers to reveal a short reading.

A spectator truly and freely shuffles a normal deck of cards while thinking of the year he was born. He deals one card each to four randomly selected spectators (on stage). All four spectators remember their card, fold it in half and insert it into a coin envelope. Envelopes are truly mixed and then handed to you.

Without peeking, switching or asking a single question, you will know what card is inside each envelope and who each envelope belongs to! You announce the card inside the envelope and immediately give the envelope to its owner preceded by a very short reading as they reveal to the audience that you are correct. This is repeated three more times.

The spectator, who, while shuffling the cards, was only thinking of the year he was born, says it out loud for the first time. The audience erupts in applause as they see each card held up by the 4 spectators shows the announced birth year!

"From the mind that brought you the IBT comes the ZDT! This is a great routine that combines many different methods of mentalism into a hard hitting and fun presentation. Josh gives you the freedom to present this in so many great ways and the use of dual reality and numerology packs a real punch for a variety of performance settings from the parlour to the stage! Highly recommended!" - Dr. Todd Landman, Co-Founder of Psycrets: The British Society of Mystery Entertainers

"A great combination of ideas and a well orchestrated presentation." - Nick Belleas, PEA Member

I like this a lot. One of the things that I have enjoyed with Zandman's work is a wicked blend of methods and this another great example.

I have yet to try it yet on stage, but I'm sure I will. I like how it seems to be fun for the audience and uses a lot of interaction.

Plus, the ending is killer.

I love his routine "The Blackjack Room" and if you are a fan of that routine, you will find the same great level of thinking here.
