I have just been exploring the packet brainwave effect and you're correct, Bob. It is related to the Think Ace plot that Marlo did a lot of work on.

"Cased-In Technicolor Thought" is the precusor to most of these effects. However, Nick Trost independently invented the same method and marketed it under the name "The Deuce You Say!" in 1974 (or earlier). This predates the publication of Ed Marlo's routine in Kabballa by at least a year. For this reason, I think Nick should be credited, along with Marlo, for this concept.
