Question:
Devices that use a high number of batteries ( 24 + ) how do you manage that? Chargers? Bulk batteries? J

Depends on what's needed more, voltage, or current.
You can get relatively "higher" voltages with small batteries if not much current is needed, by stacking coin cells, for example.

No...
for pieces like Outlaws the departed, or the upcoming SM... How far do these massive amount of batteries take you? And do you use rechargeables etc? J

Highest amp rechargeable - you'll go broke with normal batteries.
Only issue is the rechargeable go dead faster.

There will be one pack of 4 batteries in the Outlaw items that are going to go dead first. The rest of the batteries are good for at least 2000 pulses. . . that is a lot of shows. The battery pack that has a red wire running to the receiver board is the one that drains the fastest. I say use Alkalines.

According to one of the folks in managment of Batteries Plus - there is a line of rechargeable batteries that go up to full amperage and have a multi-hundred rechgarge life. They are expensive at first -- but divided by actual cycles of full amp recharge would be extremely cheap. I have not had the cash to test these -- but I can tell you my camera for selling my stage here in the Café shown on photobucket, that stuff uses batteries like they were pepperoni on a pizza -- and my expereience is that rechargeables make is feasible to keep at it with reasonable per shot costs for batteries, the charger and multiple AAs.

Take static shock devices, for example: earlier designs such as amazing1.com's "Electric Man" often employed something like 8 C batteries (1.5V each) to achieve 12 volts, when the same can be had from a single small A23 battery(12V), (as reportedly used in Electric Touch), or, it can also be achieved by two small 6V 28L batteries in series. And some A23s, if opened up, are found to contain 8 coin cells stacked inside, rather than a single cell! So really, using 8 clunky, heavy C cells is massively unnecessary overkill in that case. Jus' sayin'
