I was tipped off to these this afternoon and they seem pretty decent. They have D rings fitted to attach a shoulder strap to but they also seem pretty handy for attaching to a table, it also has a steel frame which allows the bag to remain in an open position and they come in a variety of different sizes.
http://www.craftsman.com:80/shc/s/p_1015......tool+bag I'll be heading to Home Depot Monday to see if I can't check a couple of these out myself. |

It looks promising, Wal-Martopia has something similar, I may invest in one...it would only need minimal adjustments.

There ya go.. I used to use a leather bag that I sent out for, but now I use something like this with a custom table I had built (my design)..
These things are good for what I'm doing.. |

In order for the bag to stay open while hanging you'll need to move (add?) 2 of the D-rings to the sides of the bag, and about 3" from the top. The stock design will close on you due to it's own weight. Gotta shift to a better balance point.

There's a lot more than that wrong with it. You'll know when you start to use it.

I once bought a Craftsman lawnmower brand new from my local Sears store. I had so much trouble with it that I finally took it back for a refund. They only gave me 80% of my money back because I had used it a little bit! I wouldn't give them the time of day; not because I think there's anything wrong with their bag, I'm just not going to buy one to find out! I hold a grudge like forever!

Mine stays open fine... I work with it with no problems... Mine is a "Husky" toolbag.. It's a beast... This is coming from a full time busker, and I used to use a custom made $600 leather bag/servante..

What works for me may not work for you...
I designed my own table, and attatched the bag to it so that it stays together all as one peice.. . There is no hooking or unhooking, the bag is "permanantly" attatched... the table has a built in "brace" on the back to keep the bag from slanting. The nice thing about the "husky" bag is it keeps it's shape, it's light weight, and it packs flat... The tables dimensions were made to fit flat inside of my suitcase (with the bag attatched).. On top of the table I can put my amp, and my props, and my table stand (I use one of those trifold music table stands that pack down) Now I can fly anywhere with my whole show Some of those expensive leather bags are really nice.. but are big, bulky, not "lightweight" and just not practical to fly with... the "husky" bag I'm serves me just as well as my old "bag", but can do all of the things mentioned above as well |

In the photos section you can see the table and the servante in a few shots, although it looks like the old leather one he was talking about and not the tool bag.

Yeah Mac, That's the old one I was talking about .. That thing was bulky, heavy , and not good to travel with... Also I don't like the way it connected to the table.. My new design I assure you is the way to go if traveling / weight / portability is an issue for you! ..
I really don't want to put pictures up, but I'm sure some will end up online eventually.... I just took the table to Denny & Lee's magic studio in Baltimore MD the other day and let the guys play with it, everyone loved the design with the servante built in. .. I sold a couple of them ,they are going for $350, and I'm having the table top cut to your "specs" (I suggest you measure the inside of your suitcase so that the table top fits inside like an insert... your other stuff goes on top)... The only problem is this.. I can't find where to get the collapsable "tripod" stands by themselves .. Wich is really important.. http://www.alibaba.com/product-gs/253562......and.html ... |

Hey George...
I'm not certain if they are as stable as the drum stands... but scroll halfway down the page and you will see Eureka Table Base... Looks like an option. http://themagicwarehouse.com/atable1.html Thanks Shawn

How are they different George? It's the identical stand if you ask me. You just paid a lot more than $39.00.
Frank, what that? Got a link? |

Mac,
I have personally seen George's new rig (I have also seen George work with it for a live audience) it is easy to carry (very portable) strong for the road (durable) and nice (professional) looking. True to his posts above, everything fits into a suite case (which I have also witnessed in person), once set-up makes a nice "stage" and because of the way his "bag" is structured allows for deceptive loads to take place with ease. Being a "pack flat play big" entertainer I really like what George has created.
