I have some fantastic, huge, fun Mardi Gras style hats I can incorporate to do New Orleans Saints party hats but nothing that really knocks my socks off for the Colts fans. I'm doing a Super Bowl Party at a place called BOUDREAUX'S. For the most part only Saints fans will be there and frankly, that's the point of me being there. Still I would like to have something impressive to give the few Colts fans that might be there. Any ideas for me.

I've made an Indy Colts Hat before. This is pretty simple. You can make a Horseshoe out of a blue 160 or 260 with pinch twists on the end, make the balloon really soft so that you can form the balloon in the shape of a horseshoe. If I remember correctly I attached this to a white loop for a headband. I think I used a glue dot for this. This is nothing spectacular, but gets the job done...

I"m working on maybe attaching a horse to the front of a balloon hat or maybe even taking it bigger and attaching the front and back legs to the hat. Nothing is as good as what I can come up with for the Saints. Oh well, I still have a few hours to ponder on it

Typing while I think...
White balloon Loop around the head, with the rest pointing up, ear twist1/2 way up 3" bubble, pop twist, 3" back to the ear twist. this will give you a Y to atach the blue horse shoe to, a blue with ear twist at both ends.
You will have to play with size bu it might work.

Hey, that might just do it. I so wish I had gotten some 360's. That would have made it huge. Maybe I'll work on a three balloon weave to beef it up a bit.

I'm working to see if I can use a blush heart balloon like I do to take a cow hat (ie Bad to the Balloon 2), to make the muzzle for a horse hat. Not really working.....yet

Check out Patricia Bunnell's Horse hat on BalloonHQ in the "Past Columns" section. You could put the blue horse shoes as I described earlier on the sides. I think that would look pretty cool... To make the horseshoe - just make a super soft length of balloon with pinch twists at either end and glue dot or rubber cement the middle sections of the horse shoe to form the "U." You can shape a bit more to get a more horseshoe shape and less of a "U." You could also use a white paint marker to put the nails in the Horse shoe like on the Colts logo.
