I'm with....with....say, are you the Michael Peterson from Norcal or a different one? If the Norcal one that is a great look for you compared to the wild child thing you had going a decade ago when I last saw you.

Come on why so harsh? Those two old dudes rocked it pretty hard, and man what a great staging.
1/2 of them are dead for god sake! The synergy that was The Who has long since left but if you were able to see them live, able to see them back in the day, it brought back some great memories, and it was fun. I loved the lights that went with it. I will readily admit they may be past their prime by about 25 years, and they qualify more as a novilty act more than anything. I mean when was the last album 1989? (yea kids I said album, I don't believe they EVER released a CD.) So cut them some slack. They didn't embarass themself.

The lights were great. I enjoyed seeing them, I really wanted to see Daltry toss his mic around.

It's not an age thing. Rock and Roll is VERY forgiving about age. Townsend was never the voice of the Who, so his weak, screaming vocals was like listening to a poor band doing Who music.
When I heard the Who was playing, I was thrilled. I didn't expect them to sound like Who '69,same as I don't expect Paul McCartney to sound like The Beatles. I don't even expect him to sound like 1976 McCartney. But if he takes the stage and Ringo screams Yesterday, etc. then something is wrong.

I thought it sucked. The stage and lighting were cool, but that was about it. Yes, they arent who they were in the 70's but the stones still rock those shows. They sounded bad, imho

Remove 1/2 of the Stones and tell me that they sound the same.

I love 'The Who' and thought they did fine. I enjoyed it.
And who ever said Pete doesn't sing.. c'mon... he sings all the time. So did John and so did Keith. If you are saying he drowned out Roger, that's a sound issue. It's not like they had a sound check and no one touched the system until they went on. I am sure they had a sound check before the game, but that was all taken down and put back up. If you look at all the half time shows... most go bad. From Janet to Blackstone. Cut them some slack. When have you ever heard a show where you could hear the entire audience singing along over the TV? Randi |

It was sad. I cried. It's !@#$% gettin' old. I'm glad I remember them from 'back in the day'. They gave it what they had at the SB. Kudos for that.

They are like 'Paul McCartney and Wings" as in the Wings part doesn't matter. Look, I'm a Who fan. But,there is no slack to cut them, give them a break, etc. They are a professional band and that night happen to have sucked. The Colts are a professional football team that should have won the game and they didn't. Everyone has off nights, just ask my wife.

Ummm no they are not a professional band any more LOL. They are a novilty act that is approaching 70 sooner than later. They didn't lip synch and that is better than most of todays stars that is for certain.

That show rocked! Period. Was it the Who of the 60's and 70's? of course not. Daltry and Townsend are 66 and 65 years old. Give them some slack. I don't know where Townsend is at with the booze these days, but he looked better than he did 20 years ago. He was not jumping all over the stage, but he sure got into the music, just in an older milder way. Daltry was less animated then he used to be, but they both still have the voices and the attitudes of the Who.
Who was playing drums behind them. Not as intense as Keith Moon, but who the hell else was ever as intense and as ballsy as Moon? This guy did a very competent job as a who drummer. He really got into "fooled again" as he rocked those drums. I remember one of the rolling stones talking about drummers (Not Jagger, but I forget which one) he made the point that "If your drummer quits on you, you're buggered." Moon was arrogant enought to play as if he was the leader of the Who. So give them a break, just enjoy the music, and "remember them from those crazy days" Rock on guys, rock on.

Both are fun if you do it right! |

I also enjoyed the show. Sure, they are getting older. Heck, "My Generation" was penned several generations ago! I'll bet Pete and Roger are sure glad they didn't "die before they got old"! LOL
