I go to Nashville about twice a year on business, and while I'm there, I usually meet with three of my good friends, Rick Green, Tom McKee and Lee Keebler. We usually brainstorm and BS about magic, but good things happen for all of us at these meetings.

Last night, I was pleaed to see Rick's latest effort, which he simply calls "My Im*******n Board." Rick needed something that looked more natural than some of the other devices on the market, so he used an idea from Bob Cassidy as a starting point. After a lot of work and experimentation he has come up with several improvements to te Cassidy design. With Bob's permission (mark this well!) Rick is now making these in very limited quantities at a very reasonable price.

These look like your basic small masonite clipboard, which you might pick up at Staples or some other office supply store. They should, because that's what they

There was some confusion on another topic thread about the web address...it should be http://www.modernconjurer.com/board.html.

Somehow, my post got truncated. I'm working from a hotel in Nashville, and I'm using a toy computer.

Here's what I had posted originally:

I go to Nashville about twice a year on business, and while I'm there, I usually meet with three of my good friends, Rick Green, Tom McKee and Lee Keebler. We usually brainstorm and BS about magic, but good things happen for all of us at these meetings.

Rick is now making these in very limited quantities at a very reasonable price.

These look like your basic small masonite clipboard, which you might pick up at Staples or some other office supply store. They should, because that's what they are. The work is similar to the old Nelsaon boards; however, the clips on the Nelson boards were not normal clips, so they had the potential to attract unwanted attention. They could also be removed by the curious if the boards were not watched properly. That's not the case at all with Rick's boards.

They are perfect for pre-show work. The spectators do their thing, and the performer can get to the information needed in just a matter of a few seconds backstage.

The price is quite reasonable.

Just to let everyone know what's going on with this:

The dark brown boards that I use to make these are, apparently, going away. I checked six different office supply stores in the Nashville area and in everyone of them the situation was the same: the only boards they have are a light cream color. I can't use those due to the lighter color doesn't allow me to disguise the "work" on the board. A little searching on the internet and I found one place that had what I needed in "clearance", and I bought a larger quantity.

At this point, after all that I have made from the original larger quantity, I have a total of 24 boards left available. If you want one, now's the time to get it. If I sell through these and there is still a "demand" for the boards, I'll order more from my supplier, as long as they have them. There is no indication as to when they'll run out of these, so get them while you can!

You mention that the info is viewed preshow... is this a board that can be used in action - where you can glimpse it during the show, or its it strictly preshow work that requires obvious opening of the board?

Also - Have you checked with Staples online catalog?

http://www.staples.com/OIC-Clipboard-6-x......esSearch

they have a number of the masonite darker boards for ordering

It's not a realtime device, or it would have been touted as such.

OK.. thanks... I wasnt sure if it released or opened rather easily where you could peek while putting the board back in a case or bag... or if it was more intricate than that.

Rick - do you make any type that allows for in-show viewing?

No, unfortunately I don't. John Riggs really makes the best for that.

Mark, I was aware that Staples and other companies still have these available online, but most of them have the boards on 'clearance'; as long as they are available and I'm getting orders, I'll keep ordering and making them.

To everyone who ordered one of the imp. boards: I have one last step to finish up on all of them this evening, and the boards will be shipping out to you tomorrow!

Thanks for your patience...I hope you'll find the wait was well worth it.

Anyone get theirs? They should be popping up by now. If others are getting theirs, I'll relax. No response to PM's and the link is dead. Just curious and anxious to play.

Rick contacted me and stated they were to be mailed today. Personal occurances caused the delay.

Hey, did anyone get their board? I got one in the mail, but no instructions. It's just a 6 by 9 clipboard. On it there was two thin sheets of paper that measured 5 by 8 and there was a wad of napkin wedged under the metal clip to hold it open. No instructions. I don't want to mess with it until I know the specifics.

I emailed Rick and PM'd him through the Café, but no response.
