Pat was and is a legend in magic, not only did he inspire me hugely but one of my fondest memories of my career was driving for over four hours with Pat from a performance in Wales. He taught me so much in those four hours about magic, myself and what I needed to do and he probably didn't even realise it. From the bottom of my heart Pat, rest in peace as you are reunited with your dear departed wife..

Pat was indeed a gentleman and a great magician, teacher, and historian of magic. He always helped any fellow magician who merely had to ask, which is why he was the MVP at the 1996 FFFF convention and the Guest of Honor in 2004. He will be missed.

Rest in peace Patrick. I never met him but greatly admired him. I have several of his teaching materials and really enjoyed his work.

As I've posted on a couple of other forums, and even though it's a cliche to say this at times like these, it's truly the end of an era. I've benefited in so many ways from Pat's expertise and generosity. Indeed, I don't think I would have found the courage to begin working with a topit (Michael Ammar's coaching notwithstanding) if it hadn't been for Pat's gentle encouragement and "it's no big deal" example. From one kilt-wearing magus to another, thank you, Sir, for all that you gave to magic. I'll be forever grateful. |

Patrick Page was a true master. He is one of the happy few that was really understanding magic inside out. I got to know him from Davenport times in Great Russell Street across the British Museum and next to the Cashmere House. Then I got to see him regularly for I was a pupil to Fred Robinson, the editor of Pabular, a magazine in which Pat had his column "The Page Boy speaks".
He was also seemingly involved, along with Eric Mason the gifted illustrator of Pabular and magician in his own name, into some more or less secret political society, but I was too young to dare asking more. Bob Read was also part of this superb bunch of magical musketeers and with his passing away Pat is the last member to depart. Now it's up to witnesses like Walt Lees, Peter Duffie, Philip Goldstein, Juan Tamariz, Barrie Richardson, Andrew Galloway, myself and a few happy others to keep the deeds of this unique bunch immortal. Pat had this unique gift to find simple solutions to real impact tricks and misdirection had become part of his genes and cells. He was like a living magic encyclopedia. I also recall to have been so impressed by his performing in Scottish kilt with his family tartan and black jacket with silver buttons: great class! Life may be a b*tch, but Pat was an all times passionated customer. Fare well.

Patrick will be a true loss to the magic community.
We go back nearly thirty years. (Remember when audio cassettes was new technology?) I used to offer to teach him "Southern" English. In working with sponge balls. He was the only guy I knew that had "pams" of his hands. We had a lot of fun with that. We will miss him. Bob Sanders (and for the Wizards of the Ozarks) |

It's very doubtful if anybody was more knowledgeable about magic than Pat. I often recall those 'golden days' in Ken Brooke's Magic Studio in London's Soho - then
patronised with the talents of Pat,(Ken of course), Frank Farrow, Fred Kaps, Tommy Cooper, Eric Mason, Terri Rogers, Val Andrews, Jim Hooper, Ali Bongo, Al Koran, Jay Marshall, Steve Hamilton, Bob Read, Arthur Day, Richard Ross, Dai Vernon, Slydini, Danny Dew, Charlie Miller, Tommy Wonder, Maurice Fogel, Johnny Paul, Dany Ray, Larry Jennings, Don Alan....... all gone. Pat Page WILL be remembered for all the RIGHT reasons. Bless you Pat. |

I walked into Hollywood Magic (when it was still there) and requested a sponge ball DVD. I walked out with Patrick Page's. Unlike many DVD's which just sit on my shelf, I've gone back to this over and over again. What a talent. RIP Patrick.
