I know we are fascinated by all the luxury and the collection of cups availables in the market this days but if you consider a set of cups to be for the WORKER...what do you recommend?
Thanks, Hansel!

Anything by Gary Animal.

Dixie makes some GREAT worker cups
Seriously, I personally think aluminum cups are good for working out and about in the element. They are less expensive and if they dent up, who cares? Just my 2 cents. -Lee |

Cellini Cups, if you can find em.
After much soul searching about a signature, I decided not to have one.

Unless you get the Monster cups -- they weigh 2 kg per cup!

That's true, but if you want to do a two ball or three ball display on top of the cup, you are out of luck, unless you use very small balls.

So, without the two three ball display, what size of balls do you use with the Cellini cup?

The depth of the saddle would require a fairly large ball, if you want people to see them. The balls that come with the matching chop cup are the Hex Balls, which are a little larger than 1 1/16" in actual diameter. These would be 28 mm balls. That's a good size for visibility.

I love the look on some folks faces when Kent uses (abuses) his engraved silvers as every day workers!

I just got another set of Brema jumbo cups. These are almost as sturdy as the Phoenix cups or the Cellini cups. They were sold by Kanter's during the 1930's.
I had suspected that Mitch Kanter got his cups from Brema, because of all of the different Brema brass items Kanter sold. This set came with the Kanter's instruction sheet. These are BIG chrome-plated things that will easily swallow a baseball.

Brema was way ahead of his time. He was in a class by himself. His brass micro-magic pieces are works of art. It's amazing to think that even with all the high-tech, computer-guided manufacturing machinery available today no one is able to do the kind of precision work that you see reflected in the micro-brass magical apparatus that Brema was turning out 70 years ago (mind you, George Robinson over at Viking Magic comes awfully close).
