I happened to be looking at Mayne's site the other day for an older book of his, and it was the day after this new effect showed up on his website. It's a magic effect with a round balloon. I usually like his creativity, but after watching the demo, I'm not sure it's an astoundingly magical moment - and it is not clear whether the balloon has to show up already inflated. If it does, it's not worth bothering with IMHO. But if you can do the prework and keep some balloons in your bag to inflate at the time of performance, then this could be worth it for balloon workers as an added magical moment. I thought others on this board might find this interesting to check out.

It just came out, so I doubt anyone bought it yet, but with over 100 views and only one comment so far, I will take it that most of you were as underwhelmed as I byu the video demo.

On the other hand, if you have the magic magazines with balloon magic recently done by Todd Neufeld and Don Caldwell, let me tell you - the cut and restored balloon is amazing. A great twister showed it to me in the jam room at Twist and Shout, but not saying "here's a magic trick" - it was "do you know ........." figure - and I said no - so he showed me this way to twist, and it ended up a magical moment and it was awesome.
