Anybody ever done this before? If so, how did you go about it? Thanks.

What about velcroing speakers (in boxs) to the sids of the table, just a thought

I thought about doing just that but my table with magic is heavy enough. I have to keep it seperate.

What if you used two of the same kind (Like the happy amps) and made it like the Chair Sevante, http://www.theambitiouscard.com/aitem.cfm?itemid=74, but instead of going over the chair, it went over the top of the table.

So then I can just hook my ipod up to the speakers and have nothing else to carry. I am talking small speakers that are hidden/mounted from the inside.

I asked Joe Lefler about that...and after a hearty laugh, he gave me some suggestions, but I honestly don't remember them. Why don't you give him a call. You might end up buying another table (he's always in sales mode ), but he probably will give you some tips.

I could have sworn that somebody on the Café posted some pics a while back of this very project. I was hoping they would chime in and repost the pics here.

Put the heavy duty velcro on the speakers and stick them to the side of the table. Why make things difficult?

Richard,
I wanted it permanently installed so I could flip up the top, plug in and be ready to go. Plus, if they are mounted on the inside they are less likely to get damaged during travel.

Ok
Keep in mind when you install them you will be weakening the table some what. you need to cut our the front approx size of the speaker then use L brackets to attach to the wall thus the front of th e speaker is now pushed through the hole just a littell the front fabric on His tables will not really interfere with the sound quality.. its easier then I am saying sorry. I don't so small enough shows to use speaker that small so I carry the fender passport 150 and the 250 depends on the shows. also one final thought the ipod is not meant for his sort of sound you are lossing quality by using an ipod. sure th ey have gotten better but they stil do not compare with the quality of CD or downloaded to a computer. just a thought sam sam

I understand about having them inside to protect them. But if you cut holes in the sides of the table, I would make little cover (sheet metal) that velcro over the holes for transporting. Or maybe just hinge little sheet metal doors that will velcro open or close.

Mike this is true I guess I am refering to all those that still use soem of the older ipods th ey were not designed to push the music through sound systems.
you will note that there are many new "docking" stations now for ipods and technology h as improved yet I am still a fan of CD.

I've been using a pair of small self powered Bose speakers for nearly two years now. They were intended for a computer but work great for small parties and shows and can fill a pretty good size room with rich music. I put them inside the table when transporting them. I don't do this but it would be very easy to velcro them to sides of your table for a show. I personally just set them behind me and use a remote to control my music. If I need more sound than that or a microphone, I bring my Fender Passport.
