Hi!
I have bought the DVD set "Fast Company" from Damian Nieman recently and have watched the first DVD yesterday. Here are some "funny" things I have seen at the Push through chapter: 13:55 - The text says "PUSH THROUGH - FALSE SHFFLE"... Uuuuuuuuuuuuu... 14:02 - Damian speeks about retaining the order. Take a close look. Retaining the order?! Well yes, we didn't know the order before the push-through... I want to point out that I really like this DVD !!! But I had to smile while watching and noticing these things. |

I thought his nails were too long and I didn't like his Spades ring! Other than that I loved the set!

I'm afraid I don't get the "funny"?
Do you have a reason to doubt that the order remained the same? What are you talking about?.........spit it out, plain english. |

PUSH THROUGH - FALSE SHFFLE - "U" is missing in the text. A little editing thing.
But looks funny. Retaining order - If you take a closer look it is not the perfect deck order. But Daminan only speaks about reaining the order. So perhaps the deck was not in perfect deck order before the push-through. We didn't see the order at the beginning. That's the funny thing to me... So nothing to worry about Silverking ! |

The ring is "The Dean's" ring in Shade. Im not a fan of card/gambling jewelry myself.

I think he got the ring as a present.
There are editing mistakes in every magic book/dvd out there. Im sure that if he said retain full order, he meant it, and it did.

Damian will chime in and correct me if I'm wrong. In any case, Damian was kind enough to give me the ring Stallone wore in the film as a gift. It was too big for anyone else's hand anyway, but I'm happy to have it regardless! Jason

FWIW, my comment above about the fingernails and ring was tongue in cheek toward the relevance of the OP's post! I personally don't pay much attention to such things!
AWESOME gift Jason, very cool! MMc |

BigSmile,
Glad you only found one typo. We did so many revisions... but the text had a mind of its own! As for the push through, the cards were out of order from the start. I used the wrong take when I edited the piece together. Grant |

Regardless Clock, this is one of my absolute favorite DVD's. I have learned a great deal about how to handle the deck deceptively in a variety of ways. Its one of those resources I keep returning to in order to brush up on my technique. I still can't quite duplicate Damien's speed and confidence when 'stripping the deck' but I am trying. Great job.

Does anyone know anything about the music he uses on it? I'd love to find out if there was a way to get an MP3 of the soundtrack of it.

I believe they are tracks off the Shade soundtrack.

I love this set so much. Its got such a cool cinematic feel and the music rocks
I spend most of my time on disc one, I havent even gotten to 2 yet but I plan on it. Watching Damien shuffle is pretty relaxing... hypnotic even... |

That "cool cinematic feel" is 100% the fine work of Grand Carden, our very own "Clock".
I eagerly await the Grant Carden/Mr. Z disc...........................................sorry, I made that up. Hey Grant.......are you going to buy a Red Scarlet when it comes out?...........are you a "Red Guy"? |

Thanks for the compliments guys...
Silverking, I never hopped onto the 'Red train' because I knew that in 3 years similar cameras will be released at a fraction of the price... and they did! I did not shoot this, but it is a good representation of the quality of the < $2000 dollar dslr cameras that are out now. http://www.vimeo.com/5410762 Grant |

Hi Grant,
I know those text things. I was also involved in the editing process of other (non magical) projects (I was the editor). I also like this DVD set. Perhaps a little bit more in-depth on some techniques. But overall a really good product. Are there any plans for a second set? Fast Company 2? Would really like to see it!! Perhaps some peeking, mucking, palming, ... |
