There was also a Columbo episode in which Jack Cassidy played a murderer who was a magician/mentalist.

Big Bang Theory, one of the main characters; Howard Wolowitz, uses magic to attract women. It works about as well as you'd imagine. I remember at one point he produces a silk that has "Would you like to go our with me?" printed on it. When the woman says; "No." He produces a second one that says; "Are you sure?" It tells you how often he hears "No." that he had a backup silk prepared!

I've written a screenplay entitled MAGIC which, if ever purchased and produced, would present a cinematic metaphysical chiller in which prestidigitation and legerdemain also play a central role throughout.
The script's logline reads: "Stage magic and sleight-of-hand meet ritual magic and deadly spiritual warfare when a widowed single mom and her amateur magician teen son are caught in the astral crossfire raging between two warring esoteric lodges of modern Magi, battling for possession of an ancient book holding the keys to immortality and limitless supernatural power." It's sort of "Magic (tricks, illusions) meets Magic (metaphysics, mysticism)," within a horror film genre. The protagonist's mentor, who guides her occult training in "white magic," is also a semi-retired stage magician who runs a local brick-and-mortar magic shop, and gives her son lessons in close-up magic. When the kid isn't off experimenting with conjuring up demons, he's studying conjuring tricks like cups and balls and other classics, which are given a good amount of screen time throughout. (A classic coin effect even plays directly into saving the day, during the movie's epic climax.) While waiting for some Hollywood agent to discover it and deliver it into the hands of Steven Spielberg, I decided just for fun (and hopefully for some additional exposure) in the meantime to also adapt it into a novel, which I self-published on Amazon. The book version's back-cover blurb reads: "A long-lost book of ritual magic, promising infinite power. A widowed single mom whose amateur magician teen son also dabbles in the occult. An enigmatic old stage magician with far more than card tricks up his sleeve. Sorcery and deadly spiritual warfare waged by Wiccan covens and rival lodges of modern Magi. Breathtaking astral voyages. Devastating psychic attacks. Uplifting near-death experiences. Terrifying demonic encounters. And an ancient, cosmic evil, unleashed in soccer-mom suburbia." Anybody know any Hollywood agents? Or enterprising independent filmmakers with a love for magic (of either sort)? (If anyone's interested, the novel's free on Kindle Unlimited: https://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thri......&sr=8-1)
For a supernatural chiller mixing magic (prestidigitation, legerdemain) with Magic (occultism, mysticism), check out my novel MAGIC: AN OCCULT THRILLER at http://www.amazon.com/Magic-Occult-Thriller-Reed-Hall/dp/1453874836
