I'm really surprised that he didn't make the list. (He's no stranger)

What's interesting is to add together those in the top 25 whose last name is "Walton".

Bill gates only became the world's richest man after Sam Walton died. Were Sam alive today, he would probably have a good twenty or thirty billion more than Bill. The "poorest" of his four children is listed as having only 19.8 billion dollars.

And he did it in retailing rather than taking advantage of a new technology like oil or silicon chips. It may be one of the most astonishing business stories in history.

People around here have "No Walmart" signs on their lawn. I doubt if you will ever see a "No Microsoft" sign on anybodies lawn ever.

I am also surprised that the Sultan of Brunei was not no the Forbes list.

Poker games are night a thing Al. I have sit here to keep an eye them while they play, to make sure they don't cheat and so on and charge then £5 an hour each for the service. Its a hard life but some one has to do it. But its going to take some time for me to make that list doing this. Smile

So you are working now? When do you sleep? It seems to me that you are here 24 hours a day.

Yes sort of Al, I run little private poker club. I thought you knew that. There is not much to it anyway, I just change the chips up and make a ruling now and again if there is a dispute, and act like a card room manager, whatever that is. Its quite boring to watch poker being played and my dealers do the job of policing the games more or less anyway. It is sometimes more like a social club, but tonight its quiet with just the players at the tables. Most of the players that come here are businessmen, and women, but they are not mugs, they can all play the game well. I run square game but its illegal for want of a licence.
I play poker myself but I play elsewhere when I do. We also have events here, and we even raised two grand for a charity last week. That Bill Gates may be giving plenty away but I am not too sure about him, he openly advocates depopulating the planet like all these super rich seem to do. I think we should take all the money off the people on the list before its too late.

I like bartering. A chicken is always worth a chicken. These pieces of paper, shiny rocks, and ledger numbers seem contrived to me.
