I'm thinking about doing a half dyed silk routine in the McComb fashion but using only one large dye tube and using a magnet to ditch the gimmick at the end. I've been tossing around a few ideas and now I'm thinking I should make my own dye tube gimmick. I would like to make something in the Joe Porper style where the dye tube is barrel shaped but have the mouths wide enough to accommodate two fingers like in McComb's routine. I'm not familiar with the material McComb mentioned in his book to make his gimmick, maybe some our older and wiser members would be able to enlighten me. Any ideas as to how to go about this?

Look on the silk section as I replied there.
The plumbing pipe is a good idea also. Richard

Buy a Palmo. Cheap and great. I own the Porper dye tube but have decided on the Palmo. It's not as heavy, holds more, not as tall...

See here you thread of a few days ago: Here If you want to make a custom dye tube, then you will have to find a person that can turn metal into the shape you want like James Riser can do, he is a member of the Café also. click here |
