Aligator, I don't see how insulting people who like Dean's work in any way helps your opinion. You can have your opinion just fine, especially on the Bizarre forum where we are civil.
As far as Dean's Tarot DVDs, they are fantastic in my not so humble opinion. If I have to read another attempt to define 78 cards like it's some religion I would release the hounds of hell to end it all. Dean teaches you two small basic things which then allow you to read the ENTIRE Tarot effectively right off the bat. The time savings alone from not having to memorize the meanings of the cards like you are in some Tarotic Catechism is more than worth it. I have it on good authority from Asmodeus, the demon that there are no strict rules to Tarot anyway, more like guidelines ;-P

I could see how a totally seasoned expert may not find much in them. For a beginner however they are invaluable. I've watched them several times and learned quite a bit very quickly. I think it also helps to develop a feel for the cards, which is hard to do from a book.
If anyone is interested I have a (tarot) set of DVDs for sale in the deal section. I got a lot out of them, now it's time for me to digest, practice and do a million or so more readings.

Hey there... thanks as always for your feedback positive and othrwise. I would agree that this was intended for the person who was just learning or wanted to start out, same for the other DVDs, though I do think there are some things there for the pro who wants to reall do and use this stuff but has not worked out the details yet.
We are working on the next DVD in the series, and will also be adding pitch books to the support pages within the next month or so that one could use for BOR sales! Happy Readings! Dean

They are called Fidh Lan Sticks. It is a very easy to learn method of what is sometimes called Geomancy. Easy to learn, easy to do, but can be as brief or as in depth as you like it to be.
Best thing is, very few people have seen them, so there is kind of a built in fascination with them becaue they are exotic or different for the person getting the reading.

I have a few books on geomancy (John Michael Greer and Stephen Skinner), they are very good, but I've never really got going with it. I'd love to actually see someone using them and talking about them. YAY!

The Fidh Lan DVDs arrived this morning. I had the opportunity and pleasure to watch them this evening.
If you have watched and enjoyed Deans clear and consise explanations in other DVDs. I am a friend of Deans, but not a shill by any means. if I like something, I say so, if not I'll remain silent. I knew nothing about Fidh Lan Sticks prior to this day. IN my ignorance, I was quite honestly not expecting much. I soon discovered how wrong my assumption was. These sets of four sticks have an amazing reading range. THeir strength lies in their simplicity. Easy to carry, easy to learn, durable too. Using multiple sets and colors, the scope and complexity of a reading can go from short and simple to more advanced and revealing. Powerful tools these pieces of wood. Fidh Lan Sticks are an absolute, hands down winner. Kotah |

Mota, I just finished reading your full review of the Fidh Lan Sticks. I share your opinion and excitement for this new DVD release from Leaping Lizards.
I have been talking the system up since my set of the DVD arrived. No pipe dream this, but a gem and a dream of a reading system . You have said it all much better than I ever coul Kotah Posted: Jun 27, 2010 3:38pm The sixteen symbols the four sticks are capable of creating can be read or viewed as easily as international symbols or logos of products we are familiar with. The forms themselves give visual clues as to their meaning in the reading, Very, very easy to learn and retain. I am very impressed with this new release from Leaping Lizards. Dean offers methods for going from simple to quite complex readings . The option of incorporating multiple sets of sticks and color combinations. You choose the options, and create the level you wish your readings to achieve. My set of sticks in brown arrived in the mail two days ago. I was immediately able to do a short reading for my wife even though I had only watched the DVD once over a week ago. If any body needs me, I"ll be Fidh Lan The Roof Kotah All are relatively deviously simple. A most novel approach. Kotah Posted: Jun 30, 2010 2:06pm Dean, I just PM'd you with a handling idea for the sticks. These pieces of wood certainly have me thinking over time. Kotah |
