Not a silk launcher, but you may consider the confette launchers availabe from David Cresey. These are air canons that shoot confette high into the air, but I see no reason why a silk cannot be put into the device.
Also along these lines of confette shooting, Theater effects has confette launchers that work on flash paper as well, again, these could be used with a silk. |

Sounds a little hazardous to me. Be careful not to set off any smoke alarms. I will stick to my black-art blowpipe with a strong pair of lungs operating it.

Listen, with flash paper there is not smoke, you put the flash paper in and then some kleenex, then a silk. Actually works from the compression of the flash paper, but instead of shooting a flash or confette, the silk shoots up.
I have a hand held confette launcher I purchased from Fukai, years ago. It shoots confette with a flash paper load. Works perfectly! |

Alan have you tried to set fire to Kleenex? It burns just like cotton material and has a much higher flame point then TT. Flash paper burns so fast, that it is not a concern.

Actually, I have. When I was a kid, we used to burn our trash, and the tissues were what I set the match to to get the whole thing burning.

Alan, funny we use to use a piece of newspaper. Anyway, your concerns are unwarranted. Believe me.

I was just about to mention Kandu's Komedy Karton. I would suggest contacting Jef Eaton (Kandu) to see if he can adapt his idea to facilitate what you want to do, and figure out a way to create a foot switch or something for you. I think this would work perfectly!
