Pete.
You may hate gaffed coins, but you have created some of the best gaffed chips I have ever seen (I own several). Coins are different however. Almost no spectator can imagine a gaffed coin - it just doesn't enter their mind. Add to that the use of collectable coins (such as Morgans) and ordinary people just can't conceive of messing with a valuable item like that. In addition, if anyone in the audience has ever collected coins, there is an added element that the mindset of a coin collector is that you never even polish a collectable coin. In my opinion, the use of silver coins and some of the rare/unusual coins (such as African dimes) that both Lassen and Schoolcraft use adds mystery and elegance to the proper venue. Regards. Alan |

Agreed, I love the look of the aged Morgans and Walking Liberties.
I do have a few sets of £2 coins and other current UK currency to use in daily use but much prefer using these older special coins. |

I love the very old stuff and treasure my Lassen Seated Liberty gaffs, especially when paired with the late 18th century Victoria copper coins

George,
I'm thinking you meant late 19th century Victorian copper coins (late 1800s). I have a Lassen EX[ set of these and agree that they are very special. Let me know if I'm wrong on this! Sammy

My error...meant the 1899 Victoria Penny Todd was using on his recent gaffs
